Analog Power Design Engineer

Onsite location: McLeansville NC 27301

Required: Top Secret Clearance

W2 Hourly Contract with limited benefits

$45.00 - $54.25 per hour DOE

Flexible schedules with every other Friday off work, if desired (9/80 schedule)

Seeking a Analog Power Design Engineer in McLeansville NC for Undersea Systems, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for developing Undersea Communication systems.

Qualifications Required:
  • Active Top Secret Clearance
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.
  • High Voltage DC Power systems / Module design. Experience should include multiple power topology design experience from few watts to KW+ converters.
  • High voltage applications, power transmission systems, power electronics and HVDC technology
  • Expert level understanding of electrical engineering computer-aided design (CAD) tools and mixed Signal circuit analysis/design
  • Solid use of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and theories
  • Circuit Design expertise
  • Analog design and instrumentation (design and analysis)
  • Feedback / Control systems experience
  • Power System architecture and grounding
  • Isolated Switching Converters
  • Transmission Line Effects in power systems
  • EMI test and control methods (MIL-STD-461, FCC / IDE / VDE, etc)
  • Magnetics Design and High Speed Design experience are desirable
  • Strong troubleshooting ability: must be able to diagnose a problem by narrowing the point of failure sequentially through components
  • The use of specialized laboratory equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment for development, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Experience in writing specifications, requirements, and verification procedures for complex electronic systems and components
  • Ahead of technology trends with Research & Development (R&D) experience, as well as advanced proficiency in test, troubleshooting, and analyzing circuit card schematics
  • Motivated to drive innovation around design architectures, assembly, component selection, and electronics design
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills with demonstrated success leading design teams for complex projects
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Agile experience preferred.
