Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. Responsibilities
As a Journeyman Marine Engineer, you will have the opportunity to do the following:
- Assist Senior Mechanical Engineers in design, development, and evaluation of the operation of marine vessels, ship machinery, and related equipment.
- Support the US Coast Guard by reviewing third party design modifications.
- Help with performing design reviews, evaluating constructability.
- Help resolve technical issues, and managing information generated through the design and construction phase.
- Conduct marine engineering analysis.
- Create graphical representations of structures and systems.
- Inspect ship equipment or systems.
- Research advanced engineering designs or applications.
- Help prepare technical reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant Engineering discipline or a current Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- In lieu of a Bachelor's degree or a PE license, a High School Diploma/GED/equivalent plus an additional seven (7) years of experience, in addition to other experience requirements, may be substituted.
- Ability to obtain a secret clearance.
- At least 3 years of experience in Auto-CAD (or similar CAD programs) and Microsoft Suite
- At least 1 year of experience in Propulsion systems; Auxiliary Systems; Fluids and Hydraulics systems; or Ship Support Systems.
