Linux Systems Administrator

Responsibilities

As a Linux Systems Administrator with AMERICAN SYSTEMS you will have the opportunity to do the following:

• Serve as the Linux expert for all devices running in a Linux environment
• Deploy, configure, and maintain systems, including software installation, update and core services
• Operate running systems, start, and stop virtual machines and controlling services
• Manage users and groups, including use of a centralized directory for authentication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and five (5) to eight (8) years of related experience; a combination of education and experience can be used in lieu of degree
• SECRET clearance
• Must maintain Security+ certification
• DISA ACAS Training/Certified
• Certifiable knowledge of PC operations in Linux based operating systems
• Experience configuring software, modifying software configuration and performing basic configuration management IAW all STIGs and other Cybersecurity requirements
• Experience with operating systems and relational database management systems such as SQL Server
• Experience managing Storage Arrays, file and Virtual Machine backups
• Experience updating and patching Windows and Linux Operating Systems and software applications in an off-line environment
• Experience building and updating Virtual Desktop Interface technologies, VMware, Linux, physical computers, virtual machines and working LAN experience
• Experience analyzing network traffic and troubleshooting DIS/HLA packets using Wireshark, DPA, or similar software tools
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience with working general knowledge of Powershell and Scripting
• A minimum of three (3) years of employment experience of computer/networking related experience within the past five (5) years

Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $78,100.00/Yr. - USD $164,300.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
