Duties

The United States Space Force (USSF) is searching for a Lead Security Programs Specialist, SSDP (NH-0080-03, GS-12/13 Equivalent)

Description:
Directs the National Capital Region (NCR) Security Program. Serves as the NCR Mission Support Office Regional Lead and acts on behalf of the SWAC/SSDP Director/Deputy Director, and SWAC/SSDP Director of Mission Support Office in all mission support office matters with responsibility for the efficient management and administrative direction of the organization. Responsible for the security management and oversight of all regional SAP, SCI and Collateral programs of the USSF's highest precedence controlled and classified programs as designated by the Secretary of the Air Force. Directs policies and procedures for investigating security incidents and provide for interim agency solutions, to include damage and risk assessments. Provides inputs to the MSO Directorate's yearly Work Plan and associated Spend Plan and coordinates plans/schedules with other NCR division chiefs and customers. Manages the integration, and coordination of the collective efforts of a multi-disciplined staff of contractors assigned to support programs. Establishes, revises, or reviews policies, procedures, and organization design for the National Capital Region (NCR) Misson Support Office (MSO) office. Provides oversight to organization personnel on local procedures for delegation and exercise of classification and declassification authority, development of classification guidance, document marking, safeguarding, and use. Ensures appropriate documentation and accreditations of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF) and Special Access Program Facilities {SAPF) are performed. Oversees evaluation of existing security practices, provides recommendations for types of control requirements and procedures.

Ideal Candidate:
Security experience in Collateral, SCI and SAP with DoD and IC organizations is preferred.

Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of governing laws, regulations, precedents and directives governing DoD security and/or intelligence programs.
2. Knowledge of DoD and DAF special access program security and SCI programs concepts and principles.
3. Skill in the use of analytical principles, practices, and techniques to review, evaluate, and apply several alternatives according to the security requirements for highly specific situations, availability of materials, relationships with other protective programs, and cost/benefit considerations
4. Ability to identify problems and develop innovative solutions.
5. Ability to gather, analyze, and present facts.
6. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with key individuals/groups outside immediate work unit.
7. Ability to execute projects and/or studies within established financial and time constraints

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
  • Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret / SCI clearance.
  • Relocation/PCS funding is available.
  • May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
  • May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
  • This position is not eligible for telework.
  • Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification and Security Program Integration Professional Certification conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD
  • Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 20 days per year.
  • This position has been designated for drug testing. Incumbent is subject to random urinalysis testing as a condition of employment.

  • Security Certification Coding: Physical Security Certification.
  • Employee is in a designated position that requires consent and thereafter be subject to and successfully complete, an initial, periodic and random counterintelligence (CI)-scope polygraph examination as a condition of employment.
