SCA Telecommunications Mechanic II ( MNTHM-2025-22304)

Bowhead seeks to net work with an Telecommunications Mechanic II for an upcoming proposal effort. This contract will provide BTS support for the Davis- Mothan AFB in Arizona.

Responsibilities

Essential functions will include:

• Conducts maintenance and repairs of telecommunications systems.
• Performs PMI tests on telephone switch backup power systems, inside/outside cable plants, and VoIP configurations​ .
• Maintains accurate work center records and ensures timely updates to telecommunications management databases.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Advanced learning degree highly preferred
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certificate preferred.
• Must be trained and possess necessary certifications and licenses for Base Telecommunications System (BTS) operations and maintenance services​
• Advanced technical expertise in BTS maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in handling telecommunications equipment, including Cisco VoIP systems.
• Experience with preventive maintenance inspections (PMI) and fault isolation procedures.
• Must have a favorably completed NACI investigation and comply with DoD security requirements​
• Personnel working in Air Force-controlled/restricted areas must be trained under AFI 31-101, Integrated Defense​ .
• Contractors must comply with DoD Instruction 8570.01 Information Assurance (IA) Training and Certification​ .
• Security+ certification is required for personnel supporting VoIP operations.
• Employees may be required to undergo additional background checks for restricted area access​
• Capable of working in manhole systems (confined spaces), Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM), Unified Messaging for VoIP phone configurations, and the Cyberspace Infrastructure Planning System (CIPS) Visualization Component (CVC) database​
• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
• Must be able to lift equipment, perform work in confined spaces, and carry out tasks requiring fine motor skills.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Public Trust level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Public Trust clearance at this location.
