Chief Engineer, Development and Prototyping

Essential Responsibilities

• Seeking a Chief Engineer with experience in design, development and test of VTOL Unmanned Aircraft Systems.
• The Chief Engineer for Unmanned Aircraft Systems will lead the technical team in all phases of UAS development including:
  • Design
  • Industry Partner and Supplier selection
  • Prototyping
  • Assembly
  • Test and evaluation
• The Chief Engineer will have a strong technical foundation in unmanned aircraft systems and will lead development of the UAS vehicle, mission systems integration, payload integration, ground station and all supporting systems and hardware. The mission implementation of the unmanned aircraft including Mission Autonomy and knowledge of available AI mission autonomy solutions is an important element of this position.
• The Chief Engineer will develop and deliver technical briefings.
• The Chief Engineer will have cognizance over industry partners and suppliers that support our unmanned aircraft sub systems.

Desired Experience and Background

• Technical leadership of VTOL UAS aircraft and systems design
• Demonstrated performance leading technical teams through development programs
• Aircraft prototyping and flight test of unmanned aircraft
• UAS AI and Mission Autonomy
• Design for low-cost, producibility and sustainment
• Advanced degree in engineering or associated technical discipline
• SECRET Security Clearance (currently possess or ability to obtain)
