Summary
The MIL Corporation is seeking an AI/ML Software Developer Intermediate (Software Engineering, Senior Analyst). The successful candidate will serve at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station, MD site. This role involves developing and integrating software with AI/ML modules that perform inferencing and detection of cyber anomalies within kernel memory space. It also involves preparation of test/training data and acceptance testing of delivered products.
This position requires an on-site schedule, with 5 days on-site. Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.
Responsibilities
10% - 15% to other sites, as needed.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related scientific discipline such as Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Data Science, or Physics from an accredited college OR equivalent experience/combined education and/or advanced certification; a Master's degree may be considered in lieu of 2 years of professional experience.
Clearance

Salary at MIL is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, and contractual limitations. For this position, the projected compensation range is $90,000 - $140,000 per year. Responsibilities
- Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs.
- Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
- Update software or enhance existing software capabilities.
- May work with computer hardware engineers to integrate hardware and software systems, develop specifications, and performance requirements.
- May maintain databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team.
- Evaluate architecture and design to determine the adequacy of the design and architecture proposed or provided in response to requirements contained in acquisition documents.
- Evaluate the compute, size, weight, and power requirements to meet specific performance requirements.
- Evaluate the performance of the software to meet specific detection performance requirements.

Required Qualifications
- Must have at least 5 years' experience working with software development/engineering
- Proven experience developing software for Windows and Linux operating systems
- Knowledge and working experience in AI/ML
- Experience coding using languages such as C, C++, as well as Linux Kernel Code
- Strong knowledge of low-level programming for kernel/memory principles and practices, including but not limited to secure coding practices
- Knowledge of computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies
- Familiar with using version control software such as GitHub
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- DoD 8140 CSWF certification (Cloud+, CASP+, Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), CISM, CISSP, or any GIAC Certifications)
- Familiarity of AI/ML technologies relating to cyber security defense mechanisms
- Experience with Unmanned Aerial Vehicle telemetry data streams
- Experience working with Linux embedded systems and real time operating systems
- Prior experience working with DoD weapon systems
