Senior PL-SQL Developer

Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Senior PL-SQL/Java Developer. This position will be located in Chantilly, VA. This position will also be fully remote.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain complex PL/SQL packages spanning multiple schemas.
• Create and maintain web pages using Oracle PL/SQL packages
• UNIX, MS Windows Server experience
• Maintain the existing applications and enhance the system as per client requirements.
• Extensive Oracle database experience
• Modify existing batches to incorporate new functionalities.
• UNIX Shell scripting
• Analyze system issues and devise and execute remediation plans.
• Perform code reviews and bug fixing.
• Conduct performance tuning of existing queries and packages.
• Comply with all required standards and processes and devise approaches to ensure compliance across the team.
• Provide complete technical and maintenance support to the systems.
• Run the assigned projects solo as well as working as a team.
• Provide round-the-clock support as needed for the assigned tasks.
• UNIX, MS Windows Server experience
• Use of Oracle, Java, PL/SQL, JavaScript, HTML, JSON, SQL Developer, JDeveloper, JBuilder, Shell Scripting, UNIX, and Linux.
• Interact directly with the customer on behalf of the team to resolves issues or identify new requirements to be addressed by the team

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a Business, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, with 8 years (or commensurate experience)
• 10 plus years of hands-on experience in IT
• 8+ years of PL/SQL development experience
• 4+ years of Java-related experience
• Apache knowledge and Kafka Consumption code
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Understanding and knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle
• Maintains strong attention to detail in high-pressure situations
• Exhibit confidence and knowledge in solving problems
• Work well independently and within a team
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Willingness to learn and acquire new knowledge
• Clearance required: Ability to obtain/maintain a public trust
• Must have been within the US for the last 5 years

Preferred Experience

• SQL Server database experience
• Business Objects Reporting experience
• Other database experience

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
