We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Missile Engineer to support our USAF contract on Robbins AFB, GA. This project is in support of the 402d Software Engineering Group (SWEG) at Robins Air Force Base, GA. The Senior Missile Engineer supports the 402d SWEG's mission by working closely with engineers, developers, administrators and other technical teams supporting a variety of weapon system platforms and airframes such as the F-15 and F-35 fighters, the B-1B bomber, the C-5 and C-130 cargo planes, the MQ-9 Reaper and the HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopter. All work will be performed on base.

Responsibilities

Senior Missile Engineers play crucial roles in the development, integration, and maintenance of advanced military technologies. Below is an overview of the typical responsibilities associated with this role:
  • System Development and Integration: Design and integrate missile software and hardware systems, ensuring seamless operation within existing platforms.
  • Evaluation of COTS/GOTS Integration: Assess the potential impacts of incorporating Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) modules into weapon system baselines.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide engineering oversight for missile architectures, focusing on standards such as MIL-STD 1553 and MIL-STD 1760, and other relevant software interface protocols.
  • Project Management: Develop plans, coordinate work teams, and offer technical support to project team members throughout the project lifecycle.


Requirements
  • Secret security clearance
  • BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • Minimum 8 years ' experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Host Aviation Resource Management (HARM)
    • Miniature Air Launched Decoy (MALD)
    • Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM)
    • Other relevant missile software development

AND
  • Experience in integration and evaluation of software that relates to one or more of the following:
    • Brings new capability or functions
    • Evaluates potential impacts of integrating Commercial/Government off-the-shelf (COTS/GOTS) modules into a weapon system baseline
    • Provides engineering oversight for the applicable missile architecture specifically focused on MIL STD 1553, 1760 and other software interface protocols
    • Ensures interoperability between multiple variants of the same systems
    • Ensures testing requirements and SILs are meeting operational requirements
    • Ensures reprogramming tools meet operation requirements
    • Contributes to software and system design reviews, supporting documentation, or studies


Schedule
  • Facilities are open 6am-6pm - you can work with your customer leadership to set hours
  • You can flex time during the 2 week pay cycle - avoid using PTO for appointments
  • A compressed work schedule may be available at the discretion of work center leadership (i.e. 4/10 or 9/80)
