About The Role
Overview:
The Enterprise Communications Services 3 (ECS3) program plays a pivotal role in supporting our intel customer across various operational locations. We are dedicated to helping the organization transform its services through cutting-edge technologies. This includes the development, implementation, and operation of enhanced services. Over the duration of the contract, we will continuously improve service offerings, particularly through technological modernization of Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), Unified Communications (UC), Video Telecommunication, and Streaming Services.
What You'll Get to Do:
As a Tier 2 Network Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting enterprise network operations and working collaboratively with other NOC and operational teams. Your role will involve coordinating network upgrades, handling routine troubleshooting, and ensuring the smooth operation of network routers and switches. You'll be an integral part of the network team, addressing break-fix issues, implementing minor configuration updates, and assisting with the development of technical resolution reports for critical network outages.

Target Salary Range: $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Key Responsibilities:
- Network Installation & Upgrades:
- Install and upgrade network routers and switches to ensure seamless operation across the enterprise.
- Perform network site surveys and assist with engineering design data calls.
- System Maintenance & Patching:
- Perform system patching, including IAVA patches, for network routers and switches to maintain security and stability.
- Conduct IOS and software upgrades to keep the network infrastructure up-to-date.
- Network Configuration:
- Implement minor network changes such as VLANs, ACLs, and port assignments.
- Provide support for new/enhanced network implementations and technical refreshes.
- Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution:
- Troubleshoot network failures and accessibility problems to ensure continuous service availability.
- Provide effective solutions to complex network issues through detailed information gathering and analysis.
- Ticket Management:
- Manage and resolve network service requests, ensuring timely closure.
- Perform initial categorization of service requests, including determining priority and impact.
- Use administrative access to network components to provision new switches, routers, VLANs, and cryptographic systems.
- Perform incident analysis and root cause analysis, escalating issues as necessary to the appropriate team or organization.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Draft and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for network operations and configurations.
- Assist with the creation of technical resolution reports for network outages and disruptions.
- Monitoring & System Performance:
- Configure, deploy, and maintain monitoring systems to ensure the availability and performance of network systems and services.
- Independent Operations:
- Work independently, particularly in remote locations, with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrate ingenuity in solving complex network problems and proposing innovative solutions.
- Travel Requirements:
- Travel to various sites for network engineering and administration activities, with up to 50% CONUS travel anticipated.
- Physical Requirements:
- May involve unpacking, moving, and installing network components of average weight and volume.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor's with 3+ years of applicable experience; Master's with 1+ years of applicable experience; 4 years of experience can be subsituted in lieu of degree
- IAT Level II Certification (required).
- TS/SCI Security Clearance with the ability to obtain a CI Polygraph.
- Preferred: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
- Experience:
- Proven experience in network administration, including installing, configuring, and troubleshooting network equipment such as routers and switches.
- Familiarity with network monitoring systems and the ability to identify and resolve network incidents.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team to resolve complex technical issues.
