JOB TITLE: Tech Writer II

JOB LOCATION: NSWC Crane, ID

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

SkyBridge Tactical is looking for highly qualified Logistician I to Provide programmatic and Life Cycle Logistics support for current Electro-Optic Infrared (EO/IR) projects managed by the Electro-Optic Technology Division (EOTD) including programmatic services, procurement documentation development, budget formulation, financial execution and tracking, and technical writing.

Responsibilities


• Shall provide Technical Writer, Quality, and Metrics support to the JXQ Division. The Contractor shall serve as the Division Data Manager/Document Custodian utilizing at minimum iPDM as the Division Data Repository. The Contractor shall write documents, edit and reformat documents, and provide to technicians, engineers, Division/Branch Quality Focal Points, or Section/Branch Managers for approval. Documents include but are not limited to: Division Instructions (DI), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP), Test Plans and Reports, Hazard Analysis documentation packages, Work Instructions (WI) and external documentation.

• The Contractor shall ensure conformance to the latest requirements of Military document preparation standards and nationally recognized standard drawing practices.

• The Contractor shall research a variety of technical documents and databases and conduct interviews with technical personnel to collect technical information and data relative to the content of documents.

• The Contractor shall prepare at minimum: graphs, data charts, flow charts, milestone charts, tables, diagrams, viewgraphs, photographs, artwork, drawings, etc., for documents and presentations.

• The Contractor shall compile information, write material, and prepare presentation documents used in local meetings and in meetings at other facilities

• The Contractor shall edit and rewrite Branch and Division generated documents and provide to the Government POC for approval. The Contractor shall change documents as necessary to make them conform to the requirements for format and content as directed by applicable guidelines. The Contractor shall change organization, presentation and wording/jargon used to ensure potential audience will understand content. The Contractor shall check content of presented material and bring inconsistencies, inaccuracies, illogical conclusions, and other technical errors to the attention of original writer.

• The Contractor shall review a variety of draft documents generated both outside and inside the Division, which are routed for comment prior to final issuance of documents. Documents include but are not limited to: SOPs, DIs, ATPs, WIs, test plans and reports, operator’s manuals (OM), technical repair standard (TRS), intermediate maintenance work requirement (IMWR), and depot maintenance work requirement (DMWR). The Contractor shall review draft instructions, policies, and other material for format and content, plus consistency with related and referenced documents. The Contractor shall provide comments and/or marked up draft to originator.

• The Contractor shall collect and organize material for revisions and changes to various military documents, and conformity to format requirements. Documents include but are not limited to: SOPs, DIs, ATPs, WIs, test plans and reports, operator’s manuals (OM), technical repair standard (TRS), intermediate maintenance work requirement (IMWR), and depot maintenance work requirement (DMWR). The Contractor Shall review and evaluate specifications, reports and other documents to determine technical accuracy, validity of references, and format compliance.

• The Contractor shall facilitate the routing and storage of document types including but not limited to all documents within this TI within the iPDM system for the Division. This includes uploading documents into iPDM, assigning approvers, communicating comments to document preparers and Quality Focal Points, tracking the approval status, troubleshooting iPDM issues, and notifying users of final approval. The Contractor will also be responsible for archival of previous versions or unneeded documents within the iPDM system.

• The Contractor shall assist with the collection, organization, and presentation of various types of information as well as create and update metrics charts/graphs to support the division. The Contractor shall utilize performance information and create tracking tools utilizing Microsoft Office products to support management tracking and reporting.

• The Contractor shall provide quality support to the division utilizing ISO 9001 and NSWC Crane Action Management System requirements and quality instructions.


Qualifications:

• Two (2) to Five (5) Years of Experience in Technical Writing

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, VISIO and Word); Internet

• Ability to communicate professionally both orally and in writing, with demonstrated presentation skills and experience communicating with management levels

• Active DoD Secret Clearance or Interim Clearance is Required
