Principal Linux Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Principal Linux Engineer to join a DoD program located in Washington, DC. The Principal Linux Engineerwill support a team as they migrate a Microsoft shop over to a Linux environment and integrate new tools and technologies. This is an on-site position that will be able to hold a Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities for the Principal Linux Engineer include:

• Design, deploy, integrate, and maintain Linux environments, support infrastructure and assist with the migration
• Integrate RHEL and Ubuntu systems, configure new systems, ensure patches are maintained, and ensure compliance and requirements are met
• Develop an operating system for the team and a plan to ensure all systems run smoothly
• Certify log management into a single repository, respond to various client needs, and act as senior lead and escalation point

Required Qualifications for the Principal Linux Engineer include:

• 15+ years of experience focused on Systems Engineering
• Experience with Linux, RHEL, and Ubuntu
• Sec+ Certification
• Bachelor's Degree
• Top Secret Clearance

Compensation for the Principal Linux Engineer include:

• Salary Range: $150,000-200,000 **depending on experience**
