The Technical Writer will support the Joint Electromagnetic Warfare Center (JEWC) by performing technical writing, editing, and formal correspondence management. The candidate will track and prepare responses using the government-supplied Task Management Tool (TMT) and various collaboration tools, ensuring clear and effective communication across Department of Defense (DoD) and international defense partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Writing & Editing:
    • Develop, edit, and manage correspondence and technical documentation to meet DoD, USSTRATCOM, and NATO formatting, grammar, and style standards.
    • Recommend and implement revisions, format changes, and alternative presentation methods to enhance clarity and effectiveness.
    • Ensure documents meet targeted audience requirements through precise and persuasive writing.
  • Task & Correspondence Management:
    • Utilize TMT, telecommunications, and collaboration software to track, manage, and prepare responses for official correspondence.
    • Oversee document clearance procedures and production stages to meet deadlines and maintain quality standards.
  • Publication Development & Audience Analysis:
    • Define intended audiences and ensure content aligns with mission objectives.
    • Advise on the most effective methods for presenting technical data and ensure compliance with DoD and Combatant Commands (CCMD) standards.
    • Collaborate with C/S/A (Commands, Services, and Agencies) and international defense partners to refine and enhance documentation.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Required:
    • Active TS/SCI clearance with SI/TK/G/HCS access.
    • Experience in technical writing, editing, and document management.
    • Proficiency with TMT and collaboration software for correspondence tracking.
    • Strong understanding of DoD, USSTRATCOM, and NATO formatting and publication guidelines.
    • Ability to rewrite and edit materials for clarity, persuasiveness, and adherence to established style guides.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience working with CCMDs, Services, and international defense partners.
    • Knowledge of electromagnetic warfare and military operations terminology.
    • Strong organizational and project management skills to meet deadlines.
