DevSecOps Engineer Manager

Description

We are seeking multiple DevOps Managers leading teams to create, enhance, and maintaining the infrastructure and tools that enable rapid development and deployment of software products. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in software development and a passion for streamlining software delivery by implementing modern DevOps practices while being able to develop in existing technologies as upgrades take place.

This position is contingent on funding and will be located in Arlington, VA.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, automated, user-friendly systems that will support our development and infrastructure requirements
• Develop software solutions that leverage automation and integrate with existing systems to enhance operational excellence
• Work collaboratively to deploy and operate our systems, helping to automate and streamline our operations and processes
• Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations, as well as troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test, and production environments
• Manage CI/CD tools and configure automated testing and deployment strategies
• Stay current with industry trends and source new ways for our business to improve
• Participate in the creation of a containerization strategy and execute it to improve scalability and portability
• Monitor, analyze, and react to system events/alerts to ensure company services are available to meet SLA commitments
• Contribute to the creation of system documentation and update it regularly
• Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and fourteen (14) years of expereince, or equivalent experience
• Fluent in either Java and/or .Net to assist in maintaining existing technologies
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as JavaScript, jQuery, Angular, Apache Tika, and/or Spark
• Experience with databases such as Oracle and/or MSSQL
• Demonstrated experience with complex SQL queries
• Working with application/web servers such as Wildfly, IIS, Tomcat, etc
• Proficient with Git or other version control system (VCS)
• Experience working in an Agile/DevOps process
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Problem-solving attitude
• Collaborative team spirit
• Working knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Experience with open-source technologies and cloud services
• Experience in working with configuration management tools such as Terraform, Puppet, and/or Chef
• Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for deployment

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• This position may require on-call availability and occasional overtime
• Participation in disaster recovery drills and activities
• Some travel may be required for the purpose of off-site system maintenance and troubleshooting

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:

• Must have an active Secret Clearance
