Description

The Systems Administrator will work with the Joint Threat Warning System-Air (JTWS-AIR) team administering, integrating and configuring tools onto Windows Servers and workstations to support United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). Main duties include providing updates for Microsoft patches and tools from various repositories, installing and updating the applications, and configuring each to successfully run on the system. The candidate will have to network servers together in a software lab environment and work on potentially multiple systems and builds to be kept up to date and ready for on-time deployment/delivery. The candidate selected will be working in a team environment to produce new builds to the IV&V group, and will have to support any changes or make any fixes found by the testing group. The Systems Administrator will be supporting quarterly and semi-annual update process working closely with an Information Assurance team to address vulnerabilities. The Systems Administrator will participate in the execution of the monthly build process and provide supporting documentation for information to support documentation including: trouble tickets/bug reports, Software Change Requests (SCR), input to the System Version Document (SVD), and any build plans and installation procedures. This process includes the installation of GOTS and COTS software, troubleshooting, and extensive information systems security analysis and the controls implemented to secure a system.
  • Performing SYSADMIN duties on assigned government-authorized systems
  • Assisting security managers with developing ISS documentation (SSP, CMP, CP, RMP, etc.) to support the Assessment & Authorization (A&A) of assigned systems
  • Performing ISS controls assessments as part of the systems' Continuous Monitoring Plan
  • Overseeing configuration management of assigned systems, Working knowledge of contemporary imaging solutions (Symantec Ghost, Macrium Reflect, etc) and Windows licensing implementations (MAK, KMS, TBA)
  • Performing periodic software inventory assessments; asset and media management support, Familiarity with formatting and packaging of audit logs and data in order to submit them for external review
  • Performing technical security assessments of computing environments to identify vulnerabilities and security control deficiencies, familiarity with ACAS or the equivalent Tenable products (Nessus, Security Center, etc) required to make these assessments
  • Assisting security managers with developing POA&Ms, and remediating control deficiencies, assisting with ISS Self Assessments when required
  • Applying system patches and manage vulnerabilities as required
  • Analyzing, designing, testing, documenting, implementing and supporting of DoD Systems and network technologies
  • Working knowledge of Cisco Routers, applications, and technologies such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Cisco VLANs, and IIS.
  • Preparing and maintaining up to date documentation detailing configuration of deployed solutions
  • Demonstrating proficiency with the design, provisioning and troubleshooting of LAN/WAN connectivity technologies
  • Building test and staging environments that accurately mirror production environments.
  • Evaluating new and emerging security threats, products and technologies
  • Understanding of Public Key Infrastructure and encryption
  • Developing and evaluating customer computing programs and operations to determine adherence to policies and procedures mandated by governing agencies
