TEKsystems is hiring an onsite "Active Directory (AD) Systems Administrator, Senior-level" proficient in technical designs and support of global Enterprise Active Directory environments and the associated Microsoft product line and services to support our program in one of 2 locations, Hanscom AFB, MA or Scott AFB, IL.
What you'll do:
Work with Enterprise AD team leader to support Community of Excellence (COE) requests.
Systems Administrators are responsible for installation and maintenance of the Windows-based operating systems and configurations on all organizational Windows servers while supporting solutions across the 180+ USAF Contiguous United States (CONUS) and Outside Contiguous United States (OCONUS) bases.
You will serve as technical point of contact for engineering review boards considering all additions to or changes to the operating environment. The candidate must be able to assist local and remote users with complex IT-related issues and support daily IT operations. The successful candidate must possess solid interpersonal skills in addition to high technical aptitude. Position is designated as “Mission Essential”.
Support Daily Operational Domain Activities; LDAP integration, Certificates, Group Policy Admin, Domain Controller deployment and support, custom schema extensions, ADFS, PKI, and DNS, user login scripts.
Support the Operations Manager: provide input to Operational projects, Migration plans, schedules, troubleshooting, strategies and USAF customer meetings
Specific Responsibilities will include:
Perform privilege assignment, group membership management, and GPO directory access control using a directory system
Create, privilege, and organize windows group policy objects and file shares with domain security compliance prioritizing usability
Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and
resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues in response to Service Desk Tickets
Provide diagnosis for system software/hardware failures and assist in developing solutions.
Provide hardware support for servers and work with hardware maintenance providers.
Provide accurate, detailed and timely updates to tickets and projects
Recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management.
Create and maintain user and computer accounts and modify file permissions and security access lists.
Test new releases of products to ensure compatibility and minimize user impact.
Develop and document technical processes and procedures as needed.
Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, Raritan, and virtualization environment
Maintain user security definitions in Microsoft Active Directory and any other security system as required.
Monitor and support local SQL databases
Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance
Develop and document technical processes and procedures as needed.
Adhere to strict Information Systems security guidelines in all cases.
Implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, with internal or external customers, in written and oral format.
Must be available as part of a team for on-call support on a 24 x 7 basis.
Must work on-site
As required, must be available on ‘off hours’, to perform necessary changes.
Support server maintenance and special projects, during extended work hours
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Working knowledge of enterprise-level tools to provide and troubleshoot technology services including Print servers/shares, File servers/shares, DNS, DHCP, RADIUS, Client/Server/Firewall VPN connections, Encryption
· Familiarity and proficiency with Active Directory.
· Familiarity and proficiency with Raritan KVM (Dominion KX2, CommandCenter)
· Familiarity with SCAP / ACAS, vulnerability scanning desired.
· Knowledge and experience in system monitoring / monitoring tools and trouble shooting.
· Knowledgeable in DoD IAM, FISMA, and RMF concepts desired.
Education/Experience:
· Associate or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience preferred
· 8+ years of experience in Windows Server Administration to include Windows Active Directory and GPO assignment and related services
· 8+ years of experience Windows Server 2008/R2/2012/2016/2019, Windows 10, Microsoft Office Product Suite
· 3-5 years of experience with VMware Products, like vSphere and vSAN
· 3-5 years of database, network administration, or system administration experience
· 2 years of experience with Raritan KVM (Dominion KX2, Dominion KX3, CommandCenter) is highly desired
· Experienced in DoD C&A Process, DISA STIGs, and IAVA compliance desired.
Certifications:
· Microsoft Certified Solution Associate is required
· Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert is a plus
· System Admin and IT certifications in Linux, VMware or other related fields are a plus
· Current DOD 8140 certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or higher) required
· Must have an ACTIVE DoD Secret security clearance
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40 - $48/hr.
