Job Description:
* Client seeking a multi-discipline Research Engineer with interest and experience in analyzing digital data to evaluate design performance at system, subsystem, and component levels, and where necessary develop fundamentally sound mathematical models of complex applications across the RF, EW and Cyber domains.
* Through research programs funded by science and technology R&D organizations within the U.S. Department of Defense, the research and development teams in FAST Labs⢠collaborate across the enterprise.
* On this team, you'll have the opportunity to create and develop advanced technology capabilities in the areas of advanced electronics, autonomy, cyber, electronic warfare, and sensors and processing.
Responsibilities:
* Perform forensic analysis and reporting on data collected during EW technology system demonstrations.
* Create novel approaches to complex research problems to enable advanced missions.
* Develop and analyze complex systems and solutions.
* Design, develop, integrate and test software to go into the DSP baseline.
* Support field testing of the technology and troubleshoot issues on the fly.
Req Skills:
* Expert with scripting tools like MATLAB and Python.
* Familiarity with C++ program language for translating algorithms in MATLAB or Python to real-time systems for operation.
* Expert understanding of the core math behind Digital Signal Processing and I/Q analysis.
* Demonstrated ability to breakdown complex, minimally defined problems with little oversight.
* Familiarity with analysis of big data sets and structures.
* Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams to achieve customer objectives.
Pref Skills:
* Background working with software defined radios for proof-of-concept implementations.
* Proficiency using Linux systems.
* Experience with NVIDIA GPUs and CUDA programming.
* Experience working in rapid development cycles (6-10-week development cycles between demonstrations).
* Experience with proposals and shaping new work opportunities.
* Comfortable presenting and defending technical problems and solutions to company leadership and external customers.
