Job Title: Digital Design Engineer III

Job Description:
About This Role:
* Client is seeking an experienced Digital Design Engineer to develop solutions for a variety of technical challenges.
* The Digital Design Engineer will engage in technical projects including FPGA hardware and firmware design, and embedded microcontroller design and development.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Design Digital Signal Processing code for FPGAs (Altera/Intel or Xilinx/AMD).
* Develop code for embedded microcontrollers (Atmel, Microchip, etc.).
* Conduct architecture planning and system-level design.
* Solve complex problems requiring research and analysis of alternatives.
* Work independently to develop innovative solutions.
* Ensure the completion of milestones associated with specific projects.
* Write interface control documents, specifications, and test procedures for designs.
* Report status, including schedule progress and issues.
* Work closely with hardware in a lab setting, and debug using lab equipment (e.g., Spectrum Analyzer, Digital Oscilloscope).
Required Skills and Experience:
* BS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
* Ability to obtain a U.S. secret clearance.
* Experience with VHDL and/or Verilog.
Desired Skills and Experience:
* Knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF).
* Experience leading teams on complex designs.
* Proficiency with MATLAB and Simulink.
