Job Description
NIDS4 - This program is for the modernization of software applications for war planning used by the DoD. The application does “advanced targeting”. USSTRATCOM conducts global operations in coordination with other Combatant Commands, Services, and appropriate U.S. Government agencies to deter and detect strategic attacks against the U.S. and its allies and is prepared to defend the nation as directed. Under this contract/program, Northrop Grumman Corporation will provide war-planning solutions and enhancements while modernizing the system into new architectures to support operational war-planning and targeting solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Modernizing legacy applications.
• Software development and managing the deployment of the software (i.e., CI/CD, deployment, containers, Jenkins, Ansible, unit/integration tests, GIT, VSCode, deployment on WebLogic/Linux).
• Advanced targeting application for the United States Strategic Command (a command under the Air Force).
• Design, develop, modify, and implement software programming applications.
• Troubleshoot production issues related to software applications, systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms.
• Maintain and bug fix existing software.
• Conduct unit testing and participate in code review and system test processes.
• Quickly understand existing software solutions to contribute to future enhancements.
• Assist in the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integration, and testing tools.
• Modernize the software application to an Agile DevOps CI/CD environment.
• Support critical mission work with STRATCOM, guiding and tracking military nuclear & long-range missiles.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ideal Candidate:
• Full stack developer.
• Back End / Middle Tier: Java software development with a mix of Java technologies and frameworks/design patterns, development environment like Eclipse, Micro Services architecture, REST, Services Oriented Architecture (SOA), knowledge of web server infrastructure (Linux, WebLogic preferred, or JBoss).
• Front End: Web technologies including Angular, HTML, CSS, XML, REST, JSON. Proficiency with web user interface and web application technologies.
Soft Skills:
• Adaptable, flexible, willing to learn complex systems.
• Easy-going, able to deal with change, good team player, great attitude.
• Strong communication skills.
• Willing to work through multiple layers of approvals due to the critical nature of the application.

Pay:
This position is able to pay between $30.00 to $60.00 per hour for the 24-month contract position we have available at TEKsystems to be a Java Developer/Software Engineer for our DOD Customer in Bellevue, NE.
Clearance Level: Secret
· This position requires an active DoD Clearance (Secret, Top Secret, Top Secret/SCI) or the ability to be obtain an (Interim Secret, Interim Top Secret)
· Because an active or interim DoD clearance is required, U.S. Citizenship is required
