Job Description:

Provides technical support in the missionization, development, deployment and field support for the executive helicopter mission communications system. Supports network engineering support laboratory and TS/SCI operational networks in support of the government's Mission Communication System (MCS) development test and sustainment. Performs final ready for issue configurations engineering support by connecting to operational TS/SCI networks. Maintains and configures network components to support initial and operational deployment of the MCS. Provides MCS system trouble shooting, check out and validation for aircraft configurations.

Installs, configures and supports an air vehicle's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN) and Internet systems, or a segment of a network system. Monitors network to ensure network availability to all system users. Performs necessary maintenance to support network availability. Responsible for monitoring air vehicle system performance to ensure operation functions correctly and without interruption.

Essential Functions:

Experienced professional with proficient knowledge of job area and practical knowledge of project management. May manage projects or processes with general supervision. Communicates with contacts inside and outside of own department to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures. Recommends enhancements to systems and processes. Works to achieve operational targets for specific programs and projects with moderate impact on departmental results.

Works under general supervision. May be responsible for entire projects or processes within job area. May be responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to other employees within job area. May manage projects at this level with responsibility for the delegation of work and the review of others' work product.

Work consists of making moderate enhancements or improvements to systems and processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness of job area. Opportunities for problem solving and innovation are general, and may require understanding of broader set of issues but typically are not complex. Problems may require understanding of other job areas. Problems are typically solved drawing from prior experiences, with analysis of the issues.

Works to achieve operational targets with moderate impact on departmental results. Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects. Exerts some influence on the overall objectives of the project.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Minimum of six (6) years' experience in the field of Computer Sciences which includes systems installation, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair.
  • Familiarity with NAVAIR, NAWCAD and relevant aviation programs desired.


In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $70,500 - $131,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
