Operational Requirements Systems Engineer

Overview

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking an Operational Requirements Engineer to join our team in providing requirements development support for the Director, Operational Requirements, Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Air and Marine Operations (AMO). You will primarily be responsible for conducting analysis and working with stakeholders to develop operational and system requirements for new aircraft, sensor, and marine vessel acquisitions in support of CBP AMO. You will follow DHS Joint Integration and Requirements Management System (JRIMS) processes to conduct required technical analysis and produce required documentation. The results of this analysis and engagement will be documented in formal documents such as Capability Assessment Reports, Mission Needs Statements, and Operational Requirements Documents. This position will be located at MTSI's HQ in Alexandria, VA, with some remote flexiblity.

Responsibilities

As an Operational Requirements Engineer you will primarily be responsible for assisting with specialized engineering analysis and independent technical analysis. This position will be locted at the CBP Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:

• You will provide support to the Director, Operational Requirements at CBP AMO by executing technical analysis and stakeholder engagement to support the development of JRIMS required analysis and documentation for new law enforcement aircraft, sensor and marine vessel acquisitions.
• Produce concepts of operations, capability assessment reports, mission needs statements, and operational requirements document.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement by participating in Operational Advisory Groups and Technical Working Groups.
• Facilitate JRIMS required staffing of requirements documents by effectively putting documents out for comment, responding to and adjudicating comments, and preparing decision briefs for leadership.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in aeronautical/systems engineering, design and production.
• Knowledge of DHS JRIMS or the equivalent DoD Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS).

Desired Requirements:

• Experience working with aviation assets, equipped for law enforcement missions.
• Military or Federal Law Enforcement experience.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline that is relevant to aviation or sensor systems.

Desired Certification Requirements:

• N/A.

Clearance Requirements:

• Current Secret Clearance.
• T/S Clearance, (Desired).
• U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
