Program Overview

Provides global enterprise infrastructure, network, and operations support for the Department of State, including network design, software lifecycle management, enterprise patching, and cloud engineering. Delivering innovative IT solutions and responding swiftly to urgent world events and critical cybersecurity threats for diplomats domestically and overseas ensures high customer satisfaction.

About The Role

Position Description:

This position is in support of the Department of State (DoS) as a part of the Vanguard 2.2.1 contract. A current TS security clearance is required for consideration. The candidate will be responsible to support the process to allow on-premise web based applications to be accessed externally in a secure manner. Within Azure AD, configure Conditional Access Policies to meet the system owner's business requirements.

This role requires an in-depth knowledge of the Active Directory, DNS, SCOM\SCCM, group policy and a proficiency in PowerShell scripting. The candidate must have demonstrated prior and active experience in managing Active Directory including diagnosing complex replication, group policy, and multi domain issues. The candidate will support the continuing goal of incorporating these innovative technologies into the Department's equipment modernization program.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter, someone who can work independently, and will be flexible in a fast-paced environment.

Description of Duties:

  • Active Directory liaison with the MCAS Project Team
  • Participate with the MCAS engineering group to implement and support a new directory related services that are part of the MCAS Deployment Plan.
  • Lead and Participate in Technical Meetings.
  • Ensure services manager is made aware of potential system problems or customer issues to avoid surprising management personnel
  • Create MCAS AD test plans, technical specifications, and white papers as required.
  • Communicate regularly to project leads regarding project activities and status.
  • Onboard the application in Azure AD
  • Help application owners to create service principal name (SPN) if it is not already configured.
  • Create Kerberos Constrain Delegation (KCD) for single sign-on (SSO)
  • Replicate the changes to three (3) Active Directory core site (BIMC, EW, and MS)
  • Configure single sign-on in Azure AD.


  • Qualifications

    Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree with 12 year's recent system engineering experience. HS Diploma and 16 years experience. Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.

  • Required Experience/Skills/Attributes:

  • Proficiency authoring PowerShell scripts for task automation.
  • A Strong understanding of DNS Management
  • Strong understanding and practical experience using of Group Policy for server management
  • Foundational to advance proficiency with SCOM and SCCM

  • Desired Experience/Skills/Attributes:
  • Microsoft MSCE certification
  • Familiarity with DoS processes.
  • Microsoft and/or networking certifications.
  • Ability to apply ITIL v3 Foundation concepts within the workplace.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team skills.
  • Strong writing skills.

    Details

    Target Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
