We are seeking an "onsite" Senior Program Quality Engineer (PQE) supporting the Coyote program in Tucson. The PQE will support Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) as well as production contracts ensuring that program goals are accomplished while staying compliant to AS9100 requirements.

As the primary quality interface for customers and suppliers, you'll ensure the program meets all Quality & Mission Assurance requirements. This includes coordinating with functional IPTs and overseeing contracts through all IPDS phases, from design to production and sustainment

You'll develop and monitor quality metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives, working closely with integrated teams to enforce process rigor. Supporting transition to production activities, you'll lead PFMEA, First Article Inspection, and Quality Control Plan efforts and play a key role in Material Review Board, Change Control Board, and Risk Review Board.

The candidate will collaborate closely with all cross-functional teams including systems, electrical, mechanical, operations, supply chain, and systems integration and test to guarantee that mission goals and contractual requirements have been met. What You will Do:
  • Serve as a member of the Coyote Program team, ensuring successful program performance, deliver conforming products/services through effective collaboration and compliance to processes and procedures.
  • Serve as a program quality liaison across customer organizations (Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and United States Government (USG)), as well as relevant factories and engineering labs as first responder for quality issues and concerns related to development and production products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partner with program leadership team to define and implement quality improvement strategies.
  • Support supplier quality and supplier engineering efforts to help ensure compliance to the supplier program quality plan.
  • Lead and perform root cause analysis, facilitate corrective actions, and implement closed loop process controls to improve product/process predictability and capability.
  • Generation of new Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) projects to reduce costs on the program.
  • Review and approve changes to the technical data package, assign actions when necessary and complete actions in a timely manner when assigned. This includes but is not limited to: Peer reviews, Engineering Review/Change Control Board (ERB/CCB) and/or Design reviews.


Qualifications You Must Have :
  • Typically requires bachelor's degree in science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and five (5) years of relevant experience in the following;
    • Working experience with Quality Management Systems, to include ISO 9001, AS9100 and/or AS9102.
    • Working experience directing teams in failure and root cause analysis, corrective and preventative actions.
    • Working experience interpreting technical drawings.
    • Working experience with technical data package review (TDP) and document repository.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Security Clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.


Qualifications We Prefer :
  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification and/or Program Management Certification.
  • Experience with Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE) or another Continuous Improvement Program.
  • Working experience using resources such as 5S, Root Cause Analysis, Process Mapping/Analysis, Lean Six Sigma (6Sigma).
  • Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)/AS9145 and utilizing resources such as Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Key Characteristics, Design Failure Modes, and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Production Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and/or Control Plans.
  • Experience conducting First Article Inspections per AS9102
  • Experience with Configuration Control System such as Common Product Data Management (cPDM) and/or Common As-Built System (CABS).
  • Experience Reviewing Statement of Work (SOW), Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR), Knowledge of Purchase Order Quality Requirements (Q-Notes, STAMP).
  • Experience presenting, reviewing and/or approving changes through a formal Change Control Board (CCB).
  • Experience applying and translating system requirements and contractual requirements to ensure full compliance is flowed down through product, assembly, and test documentation.
  • Experience working as an individual contributor and in a dynamic team environment.
  • Experience applying interpersonal skills and working with customers, suppliers, and in a team environment.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
