Facility Maintenance Technician

SAIC has a Full-Time Position opening for a Facility Maintenance Technician (General Maintenance Worker) to work to support the NCCIPSv2 Contract. The National Center for Critical Information Processing and Storage (NCCIPS) is a federal shared services facility, managed by the NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC). NCCIPS provides facilities support to meet the requirements of multiple federal agency data centers and manages those relationships via Interagency Agreements. NCCIPS is a 200,000 sq. ft. secure facility situated on a 64 acre campus within NASA Stennis Space Center in southern Mississippi.

This position is covered under the Service Contractor Labor Standards (SCLS) wage determinations and the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

The duties for the Facility Maintenance Technician (General Maintenance Worker) include but are not limited to the following:

• General interior and exterior building maintenance duties include the following:
• General repairs: using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings; replacing floor tiles; and hanging doors and installing door locks.
• Repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets.
• Cleaning in and around buildings to include spot cleaning/shampooing of carpets, stripping and waxing floors, washing windows, and pressure-washing exterior of buildings.
• Painting structures and equipment.
• Assist other departments as necessary IE: Facilities Escorting.
• Clean and maintain shop area and equipment.
• Grounds maintenance duties include weeding, basic pruning, fertilizing, brush and litter removal.
• Maintenance of street signs and markings, curbing, manholes, and sidewalk/pavement repairs as needed.
• Duties will vary by assignment.

Qualifications - External

Required Education\Training\Certifications:

• High school education or GED.

Required Skills:

• Must have 3 year experience with General Maintenance in a Facility environment.
• Physical ability to perform manual tasks and the mobility to navigate all types of surfaces and terrain.
• Skilled in operating and maintaining manual/power tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of basic safety procedures and precautions.
• Ability to perform physical activity.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work as a member of a crew.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word).

Clearance:

• US Citizenship is required.
• Must be able to obtain a DOD Interim Secret clearance prior to employment. Continued employment is contingent that the employee obtains and maintains a full Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time.
