Position: Strategic Communications Specialist
Location: Bethesda, MD
Clearance required: TS/SCI CI Polygraph

Responsibilities:
• Lead communication support such as the development, preparation, production, coordination, and editing of a range of products.
• Prepare assignments based on input from subject matter experts.
• Mentor and train junior staff.
• Utilize tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud suite to create compelling content.
• Provide support by researching, proofreading, editing, creating, writing, processing, revising, formatting, providing quality checks, and coordinating the composition of products.
• Ensure documentation and editing support includes checks for accuracy and consistency.
• Draft and edit a variety of communication materials and products.
• Serve as the primary author on fact sheets, pamphlets, website content, articles, email messaging, and other communications products.
• Initiate, plan, execute, and report on tasks independently.
• Prepare and edit speeches or scripts for senior executives.
• Rewrite submissions as necessary to organize, balance, and apply a consistent sense of style, grammar, and flow.
• Convey complex information in a clear and simple manner.
• Ensure all products are consistent with tradecraft and publication standards.
• Advise and coach leadership on the presentation and delivery of speeches.

Qualifications:
• Requires an active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph.
• Minimum 8 years with BS/BA, minimum 6 years with MS/MA, minimum 3 years with PhD, or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience leading communication support.
• Experience preparing assignments based on input from subject matter experts.
• Experience mentoring and training junior staff.
• Experience utilizing tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud suite.
• Experience providing support by researching, proofreading, editing, creating, writing, processing, revising, formatting, providing quality checks, and coordinating the composition of products.
• Experience drafting and editing a variety of communication materials and products.
• Experience preparing and editing speeches or scripts for senior executives.
• Ability to convey complex information in a clear and simple manner.
