Unified Communications Administrator

This position requires an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) clearance with the ability to obtain a Counterintelligence polygraph to be considered.

Criterion Systems is seeking a Unified Communications (UC) Administrator to support the Enterprise Communications Services 3 (ECS3) program. The UC Administrator will coordinate with other NOC and Operational staff to solve complex support problems and will be asked to implement platform upgrades.

Unified Communications Administrator Responsibilities Include:
  • Perform System upgrades and IAVA patches to Cisco Unified Call Manager
  • Perform inventory asset management and accountability functions.
  • Perform IOS Upgrades
  • Draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for UC operations.
  • Troubleshoot systems failures and accessibility problems.
  • Monitor system performance and track usage.
  • Make recommendations that enhance efficiencies for UC monitoring, management, and overall operations.
  • Utilize experience and knowledge articles to understand/implement potential workarounds.
  • Update knowledge articles and handles "how to" questions.
  • Support UC KM management by entering solutions into the Solutions database.
  • Participate in engineering designs/decisions supporting technical refresh of components directly impacting mission success.
  • Lead UC implementation, installation, and technical refresh projects within a site or locale.
  • Work independently with general limited supervision.
  • Perform UC ticket resolution. Responsibilities for UC ticket closure across UC OPS staff to include:
    • Complete initial categorization of Service Requests (type, sub-type, location device, priority, etc.)
    • Use administrative access to network components to research errors, incidents, problems and to perform incident analysis and identify potential problems.
    • Routing Service Requests to the appropriate organization required for incident resolution.
    • Perform root cause analyses. Depending on Root Cause escalates to Engineering for potential design issues.
    • Completes problem resolutions associated with incident ticket(s)
  • May configure, deploy, manage, and maintain UC monitoring systems used by the technicians to ensure availability and overall performance of system and services.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Unified Communications Administrator Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with willingness and ability to obtain a Counterintelligence polygraph.
  • Years of experience with one of the following:
    • High School/GED plus seven (9) years of relevant experience
    • Associate degree plus five (7) years of relevant experience
    • Bachelor's degree plus three (5) years of relevant experience
    • Master's degree plus one (3) years of relevant experience
  • IAT II Certification
  • Demonstrates innovative engineering acumen for improvements to site, location, or enterprise performance.
  • Ability to function as independent engineering, maintenance, and network problem solving with minimal or intermittent input from other Tiers/locations.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
