ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Washington, D.C. This is a hybrid position with 1 - 2 days a week onsite.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide Software Engineering expertise in the application of a systematic, disciplined, quantifiable approach to the development, operation, and maintenance of software and support system level test objectives development, test and evaluation, and assess/verify test performance
- Work with the Government client in the evaluation of software intensive programs and processes, software requirements analysis activities, and software design evaluations and construction reviews and participate in Technical Interchange Meetings to integrate software design principles across disciplines and the Systems Engineering Life Cycle
- Support software configuration management, software engineering management, software engineering processes development, software tools and methods analysis, and software quality assessments
- Work with Government client on software related product selection and implementation activities, define the scope and level of detail for security plans and policies applicable to the system, and support implementation of measures to ensure security awareness and compliance.
- Identify software development risks, assist in joint SW/HW impact analyses and develop mitigation strategies to reduce system development acquisition risks
- Evaluate information protection needs against cyber-attacks and document information protection policies and evaluate IT threats and vulnerabilities to determine whether additional safeguards are needed
- Support vulnerability/risk assessment analysis to support certification and accreditation and conduct certification tests that include verification that the features and assurances required for each protection level are in place
Minimum Qualifications:
- A BA or BS and three years of relevant experience or 10 years of relevant Software Engineering experience in support of operational systems, with preference with military or government activity
- This position requires demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, effective decision-making, the ability to plan and organize work, and excellent oral and written communication skills
- Requires a detail-oriented self-starter experienced in supporting/interfacing with senior Government leaders and other technical/business professionals
- The candidate must possess a comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end System Development Life Cycle
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous Customs and Border Protection (CBP) experience
- Experience with DHS joint operations, DHS acquisition policy, DHS systems engineering lifecycle
- Technical writing experience
- A Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional, Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP), or Certified Software Engineer (CSE) certification
Clearance Requirements:
- Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a CBP Public Trust prior to starting this position
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer
- The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and clients, which may involve delivering presentations ad must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
