This position is in support of the FBI Cyber Intelligence Support Services. To aid the U.S. Government’s efforts to deter and hold accountable the criminal and nation/state cyber actors who conduct costly intrusions into private, commercial, and government networks that threaten Americans’ public health and safety, national security, and economic security. The FBI uses criminal and national security authorities to combat cyber criminals and nation/state actors
who use global infrastructure to compromise U.S. networks and lead the U.S. Government’s response to significant cyber incidents by investigating, collecting evidence and intelligence, identifying additional victims, and pursuing disruption opportunities.
ACTIVITIES:
Contract analysts will be assigned a variety of core analytical tasks or projects, resulting in written deliverables. Contract analysts shall:
• Conduct research and analysis at the operational or strategic level of the scale of analysis and, as appropriate, communicate analytic assessments in operational or strategic-level analytic intelligence products and through oral briefings.
• Build and maintain subject matter expertise in their assigned substantive or functional area.
• Review source reporting and raw intelligence to determine its value, significance, and relevance.
• Develop objective analytic assessments, when appropriate, by using logical argumentation based on intelligence information.
• Apply analytic integrity and tradecraft standards, including Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) Intelligence Community (IC) analytic standards and analytic tradecraft standards (ATS), as required by templates.
• Conduct research and analysis to support national threat strategies.
• Collaborate with FBI Intelligence Analysts (IA) performing all analytic functions, to drive intelligence-led decision making.
• Collaborate with key personnel as defined by assigned SIA and UC, including Special Agents (SA), Staff Operations Specialists (SOS), and Supervisory Special Agents (SSA), as well as any appropriate law enforcement (LE) and IC partners. Contact with any SA/SSA/LE shall be strictly coordinated with the OPS Unit UC/SSAs.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Basic understanding of computer networking, basic understanding of TCP/IP, and Networking Appliances.
• Understanding or willingness to learn Cyber Criminal Infrastructure. (become a SME)
• Passion for strategic analysis and production and report writing. (ability to adhere to a predefined style and usage guide)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (the ability to take a prewritten formula and edit the formula to use different cells to retrieve data).
• Ability to provide a generic cybercrime briefing using a premade PowerPoint presentation.
• Ability to brief strategic products to executive management.
• Ability to work independently with little to no guidance. (the position required you to independently research topics to create strategic products and inform policymakers on upcoming threats within the landscape.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Prior professional services or federal consulting experience
Certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP)
