Project Scheduler

Location: St. Louis, MO

Job Description: GridIron IT is seeking a Project Scheduler with an Active Top Secret Clearance. This individual will be motivated by variety, is seeking a challenging environment for professional growth, and is interested in running large information technology projects in the Aeronautical Domain. The Scheduler uses critical thinking techniques that are applied to project planning process and across multiple projects where necessary. The Scheduler ensures the project has reliable schedule estimates and achieves project goals on time and budget. The Scheduler ensures projects have schedule, scope and risk controls implemented in accordance with Project Delivery Standard and in line with the requirements of our client’s processes. Additionally, the Scheduler will provide our client’s management with quality, forward looking data and reporting.

Responsibilities:
Partner with Product Owners and Leads for the creation and maintenance of project / program schedules, including (but not limited to) tasks, dependencies, dates, milestones, resources and costs
Understands boundary effectivity for systems and dependencies within and bordering project scope
Performing schedule analysis on projects
Responsible for scheduling and dependency management within and across assigned portfolios and providing follow-up checks
Lead / participate in schedule audits
Interfaces with Product Owners / Leads to gather data and adjust scheduling parameters
Interface as required with all stakeholders on a project level and program level
Create and maintain the scheduling database for all schedule templates and historic/completed, proposed, and active schedules for projects and programs
Advise management on best use of coding / templates / reports within the scheduling software (Microsoft Project)
Provides forward looking schedule analysis to leadership
Evaluate project schedule progress and performance and identify developing problem areas (Risks, Issues, Opportunities)
Conduct analysis to determine alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules
Establish, maintain and report baseline and current schedule status in efforts to communicate clear, accurate and objective project and program progress updates
Proactive communication of scheduling impacts to major milestones and critical path activities in accordance with the project/program timeline commitments
Partner with project manager and leads in preparation for the project’s estimate-to-complete (ETC)
Provide earned value support
Perform schedule analytics and critical path management reviews to determine and communicate the quality and accuracy of the schedule
Analyze and report anticipated and current schedule status for communication to proactively focus management’s attention of known or potential areas of concern or risk
Attend meetings, assist in taking and relaying meeting notes, action items
Adhere to our client’s Project Scheduler Standards

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or related with 4+ years of scheduling experience using Microsoft Project. May consider more years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
Solid understanding of Project Management and Project Management Office
Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision and work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to have high level conversations with leadership teams
Excellent researching, decision-making and organizational skills are required
Strong attention to detail
Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
Work independently and follows through on assignments with minimal direction while keeping the team informed
Possess a mastery of basic/generic data skills (tools & concepts)
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection and other guidelines where appropriate
Complex Problem Solving -- identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions’
High degree of computer literacy including advanced knowledge of MS Project, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and the remainder of the MS Office suite.

Preferred Qualifications:
SAFe Agile Certifications
Experience as a Scrum Master, Product Owner, Product Manager
Understanding of AWS/Cloud technologies
Experience with ArcGIS or geospatial technologies
Experience with Aeronautical data and systems
Experience supporting the NGA customer
Experience using tools like Microsoft Project Web App (PWA), Structured Solutions Inc. (SSI) Tools for Microsoft Project, and Monte Carlo Analysis tools.
Professional certifications in Project Management (Project+, SP, CAPM, PMP, etc.)
Experience in Excel skill set including Power BI, pivot tables, macros, lookup tables
Experience linking Microsoft Project, Jira, Confluence.



Clearance
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $120,000-$150,000 (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.)
