As the Data and AI Architect within Akima's Emerging Markets Group (EMG), you will be a technical leader and visionary, shaping the future of our technology solutions and driving growth in the public sector. This role is pivotal in spearheading the design, development, and implementation of innovative data-driven solutions and AI applications that address the complex challenges faced by our government clients. Your expertise will be instrumental in crafting winning proposals, white papers, and proof-of-concept prototypes that showcase our advanced capabilities and secure new business opportunities. Additionally, you will lead our efforts in integrating AI/ML solutions in cloud environments, ensuring our solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with client needs and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Solutions Development:
    • Lead the technical design and architecture of solutions, focusing on AI/ML innovations and data analytics, for proposals, white papers, and proof-of-concept prototypes.
    • Translate complex business requirements into actionable, secure technical plans that comply with government regulations.
    • Develop clear and concise narratives that articulate the value proposition of our AI-driven solutions, highlighting their impact, innovation, and cost-effectiveness.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive data strategies and roadmaps for various customers/projects that encompass data collection, integration, governance, analysis, and visualization.
    • Design and architect effective, integrable, and scalable data solutions, leveraging your expertise in data modeling, ETL processes, data warehousing, and cloud technologies
  • Innovation and Capability Development:
    • Drive the development of Akima's technical capabilities in AI and data analytics, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices across the organization.
    • Lead internal R&D and innovation projects, exploring new technologies in AI and data science to create lasting value for EMG and our clients.
    • Conduct workshops, presentations, and training sessions to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
    • Work closely with the internal digital consulting team to integrate data-driven solutions into the cloud environment, enhancing user experience and accessibility, transforming public sector digital experience. Provide advisory and technical support to design and implement cloud-native solutions that enable efficient data processing, storage, and analysis.
  • Sustainable Business Transformation and Enduring Value Creation:
    • Work closely with project leaders to develop and implement comprehensive data strategies and roadmaps, including data collection, integration, governance, analysis, and visualization.
    • Advise on and implement cloud-native solutions that enable efficient data processing, storage, and analysis, enhancing user experience and accessibility.

Qualifications

  • Active Secret or higher clearance
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field. Experience can substitute for education.
  • 10+ years in data architecture, engineering, or a related field, with a proven track record in delivering successful data solutions and AI implementations in a government contracting environment. Must be willing to provide white paper/work samples.
  • Expertise in data planning, modeling, architecture, and AI/ML algorithms.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and data engineering tools (e.g., Python, SQL, ETL frameworks).
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and inspire technical teams.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or other agile methodologies.
