Special Security Technician - Senior

This position requires an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) clearance with the ability to obtain a Counterintelligence polygraph to be considered.

Cherokee Preting is seeking a Special Security Technician to support a government client.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Special Security Technician - Senior: $120,000 - $130,000

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Special Security Technician - Senior Responsibilities Include:
  • Assist the Special Security Officer (SSO) to ensure control of access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and SCI facilities (SCIFs)
  • Certify and receive SCI visitor clearances / accesses
  • Conduct SCI security briefings, indoctrinations, debriefings,
  • Conduct training on classified material / SSO-related material and topics;
  • Obtain signed nondisclosure agreements
  • Provide guidance and assistance for processing SCI position and eligibility requests for assigned military, Government and contractor personnel.
  • Other duties may include, but not limited to: audits of classified material; inspections of classified material storage facilities/ SCIFs / containers; and, researching and preparing classified material-related policy and management recommendations, reports and recommendations.
  • Provide administrative operations support to the Directorate of Intelligence, that may include the following, as required: Perform administrative functions related to personnel security processing, visit requests, command indoctrinations and debriefs, and administrative support in coordinating, scheduling senior level video teleconference meetings, securing spaces for appropriate conference rooms, and dissemination of documents for executive daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly meetings
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Special Security Technician - Senior Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • Active TS/SCI with willingness and ability to obtain a Counterintelligence polygraph
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Special Security Technician activities required to meet mission requirements.
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate understanding from information that may be incomplete, indirect, highly complex, seemingly unrelated, and / or technically advanced.
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal oversight and direction.
  • Demonstrates ability to collaborate and work with other IC members on information sharing, driving collection, and addressing analytic disputes and conflict resolution.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
