Information Technology /Information Assurance Specialist
This role focuses on delivering IT support for Special Access Programs (SAPs) within various Department of Defense (DoD) entities, such as Headquarters Air Force and the Office of the Secretary of Defense. The selected candidate will handle daily operations related to Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and SAP activities.
Core Responsibilities
• Establish complex controls and configurations for operational software and system interfaces.
• Oversee and maintain file servers, firewalls, and security monitoring systems.
• Diagnose and resolve system issues to enhance equipment functionality.
• Prepare systems for operational deployment and assist with testing phases.
• Review and revise authorization documentation as necessary.
• Inform stakeholders promptly about any changes impacting accreditation status.
• Complete cybersecurity assessments as part of self-inspection protocols.
• Analyze and provide technical guidance on all evidence packages tied to authorization.
• Identify security vulnerabilities and initiate appropriate countermeasures.
• Administer Video-Teleconferencing (VTC) configuration and scheduling.
• Offer external client support and manage help desk inquiries.
• Handle user account creation, modification, and removal across multiple security domains.
• Proficiency in Windows Server 2012R2, Exchange Server 2010/2016, and Windows 7/10.
• Understanding of LAN/WAN frameworks and data backup solutions, including COMSEC systems.
• Ensure that all information systems comply with security protocols and practices.
• Manage Communications Security (COMSEC) accounts and equipment.
Experience and Qualifications
• 8-10 years in positions such as System or Network Administrator or IT Assurance Specialist.
• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience (4 years).
• Must have current or prior experience in Special Access Programs.
