Hourly Rate: $22.27/Hour
Responsibilities
- Sets up food service, kitchen, or salad area facilities, equipment and utensils, in accordance with specific area needs; checks food temperatures and/or prepares areas for daily operations; may operate cooking or bakery equipment as assigned.
- Conveys food cart to detention areas and return cart to kitchen.
- Follows prescribed procedures in setting up hot and cold food, chooses proper utensils and maintains appropriate temperature for menu items.
- Prepares or assists in the preparation of hot and cold meat and vegetable dishes, beverages, salads, sandwiches, pie fillings, simple bakery items, salad dressings, and/or other similar food items, as appropriate to the position.
- Serves food items to customers in accordance with specific instructions, ensuring that appropriate portions are served.
- Replenishes foods, silverware, glassware, dishes, and trays at serving stations and replenish condiments.
- May clean, wash and maintain work areas, including floors, facilities, pots, pans, service ware, utensils, and equipment; collects and places garbage and trash in designated containers; as appropriate to the area of operation.
- Work is completed in a priority established by supervision or facility need.
- All work will be completed with a high degree of professionalism, quality and craftsmanship.
- Lulls in workload are used to maintain a clean and orderly work area and to ensure clerical tasks are up to date. Keeps up to date on departmental and facility safety standards and local codes and policies.
- Will perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- US citizen or a person lawfully admitted into the United States for permanent residence and have resided in the U.S. for the last five years.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Pass a criminal background and consumer credit check (no criminal record).
- Obtain and maintain a DHS/ICE government clearance.
- Pass all pre-employment and random drug tests.
- Pass a medical examination and meet health requirements.
- At least 21 years of age.
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Demonstrate an ability to work with a diverse population of people, including people of different cultures, with different values and lifestyles, with a cross-cultural perspective.
- Ability to greet and deal tactfully with the general public
- Capability of following and interpreting/understanding written and verbal orders, policies and regulations, printed rules and regulations, detailed written orders, training instructions and materials
- This position requires that candidates have not been terminated from a previous employer for cause.
- Proven ability to exercise good judgment, courage, alertness, an even temperament, and render satisfactory performance through his/her responsibilities.
