Salary: $150,000-180,000

Contingencies: Contingent upon funding

Clearance Required: Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess a current and active TS/SCI clearance with a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph granted by the Department of Defense or an Intelligence Community agency.

We are a small, professional, and technically talented team providing support and direction within a high visibility mission area producing a customized zero-trust, artificial intelligence solution for data discovery, information sharing, and deep governance.

We are seeking a highly motivated Principal Systems Engineer to join our team and provide excellence in systems engineering and problem solving to continue the success and growth of this emerging technical solution.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Providing support for Development, Testing, and Production environments.
  • Assisting in the design, evaluation, provisioning, configuration, and support of Application Performance Monitoring tools. Assist with achieving optimum performance and availability standards through implementing appropriate technical solutions.
  • Researching and architect security solutions for data exchange, integration, and secure single sign-on capabilities within the customers security domain.
  • Monitoring and make recommendations for allocation of computing resources to maximize performance while minimizing cost.
  • Creating and maintain instances with Chef Recipes and Cloud Formation scripts, S3 Buckets, Load Balancers, and Auto-scale.
  • Supporting application customers by installing, maintaining, administering, and managing servers and network systems.
  • Performing installations and patching of operating system, security compliance, software installation, upgrades, configuration, and system backups.
  • Assisting in the automation of manual tasks using appropriate tools and/or scripting languages. Ensure all systems are on an incremental and full system and data backup schedule.
  • Developing automated scripts to assist in the installation, deployment and monitoring of applications and servers throughout the environment.
  • Troubleshooting, maintaining integrity, and configuring network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Supporting day-to-day administration functions, including setting up, modifying, and deleting user profiles and accounts, facilitating onboarding with customer account requests, creating scripts, and configuring integration.
  • Monitoring accounts, security, Operating System (OS) installation, and other local area system administration-related functions. Monitor and make recommendations for allocation of computing resources.
  • Responding to inquiries and requests for assistance from end users via telephone, email, and ticketing system.
  • Documenting, track, and monitor technical issues to ensure timely resolution. Report on progress, issues, blockers, and mitigation plans.
  • Providing system and environment setup, repair, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation for server configurations, scripts, and all other relevant information.
  • Preparing server systems for ICD503 accreditation and perform IAVA resolution patching.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation for server configurations, scripts, and all other relevant information and standard operating procedures.
  • As needed, supporting relevant working groups and internal discussions and providing technical guidance to employees, colleagues, and customers.

Required Qualifications:
  • Must have a current TS/SCI clearance with CI/Poly.
  • Must have advanced applied skills in AWS Cloud Computing environments (certification is desired), and Linux based operating system installation, configuration, monitoring, scripting, and maintenance. Ability to understand and remediate security vulnerability findings.
  • Must have the DoD 8570 certification cybersecurity qualifications required by IT professionals who work for government agencies.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create formal reports, technical briefs, and participate in or lead technical exchange meetings.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with installation, configuration, and administration of the Collibra Platform and associated services.
  • Experience with application and system life cycle management and the Risk Management Framework.

Education Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and/or experience with a Master's degree or advanced training in information technology is required. Four (4) years of additional experience may be substituted for a degree.

Years of Experience:

Must have ten (10) years of technical experience in the analysis, design, and test of complex systems. Requires competence in all phases of analysis and design as well as available hardware, software, and management practices.
