The Swift Group is seeking experienced Network Engineer to join our technology-based program supporting a key government customer. The ideal candidate will contribute to the design, implementation, and support of next-generation voice infrastructure, ensuring secure and efficient communication systems. This role involves collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to meet system requirements and ensure compliance with industry standards.
This position is located in the Herndon, VA area.

Pay Range: $49,996.80 - $290,004.00

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, test, and deploy new voice infrastructure solutions.
- Implement next-generation voice system technology (1st article voice engineering).
- Participate in the security accreditation process for all systems.
- Provide certificate management for all voice systems.
- Perform system upgrades and patching for both hardware and software components.
- Engineer voice systems for new site standups and expansions.
- Provide Tier 4 engineering support for all voice systems.
- Design, test, and deploy call center technology, including user training and transition plans.
- Manage call routing and trunking within assigned platforms.
- Participate in meetings with clients and internal departments to define and understand system requirements.
- Monitor compliance with standards, policies, and procedures.
- Work in an enterprise IT environment with a focus on voice technologies.
- Collaborate with network engineering and other telecom engineers to integrate telephony and call center solutions.
- Hands-on experience with secure communications devices and infrastructure components such as:
- VoIP phones, STEs, Vipers, and other secure communication devices.
- Communication lines (POTs/ISDN/Leased Line), PBXs, encryption devices, conference bridges, and call management servers.
- Work with voice platforms such as Skype for Business, Avaya Communication Manager, and call center technology design and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science (preferred).
- Minimum of eleven (11) years of relevant experience in voice system engineering.
- Expertise in the following technical areas:
- SIP signaling and call flows.
- Secure Real-Time Transport Protocol (SRTP).
- Session Initiation Protocol (SIP).
- Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP).
- TCP/IP networking fundamentals.
- H.323 protocol.
- Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS).
- Domain Name System (DNS).
- Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).
- Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to provide Tier 4 engineering support.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong documentation and reporting abilities.
- US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required

- Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).
- A+ Certification.
- Network+ Certification.
- Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CCVP, CCDP, R&S).

- HP, Juniper, and CATE Certifications.
- Cisco Voice Certifications.
