Software Developer

The Swift Group is seeking an experienced Software Developer to join our technology-based program supporting a key government customer. This program delivers Enterprise Computing engineering services with modern technology solutions that operate both on-premises and via remote cloud services. As a mission-focused developer, you will be responsible for problem-solving, evaluating alternative solutions, and implementing best practices to support enterprise-level infrastructure automation and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

This position is located in the Herndon, VA area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop new automation capabilities utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices.
• Establish and maintain a CI/CD pipeline to streamline development and deployment processes.
• Design, develop, and maintain applications using Java and C# (C Sharp).
• Work with cloud service environments such as AWS and Azure, implementing scalable solutions.
• Implement DevOps practices and tools, including release management, orchestration, and code repository tools such as Jira, GitHub, and Jenkins.
• Utilize scripting languages to develop final products that meet stakeholder requirements.
• Architect, implement, and maintain solutions in the sponsor cloud environment.
• Document concepts of operations (CONOPS) and standards of practice for tiered maintenance support.
• Routinely interface with senior management and stakeholders to provide updates and technical insights.
• Deliver weekly status reports to leadership to ensure project transparency and progress tracking.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field.
• Minimum of 16 years of relevant experience in software development and cloud-based solutions.
• Strong proficiency in Java and C# (C Sharp).
• Demonstrated experience with cloud environments and services such as AWS or Azure.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps practices and tools, including Jira, GitHub, and Jenkins.
• Experience scripting and automating solutions per stakeholder requirements.
• Strong documentation skills, with experience in developing operational and maintenance standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate alternatives and provide recommendations.
• Effective communication skills to interface with senior management and leadership.
• US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with Ansible for automation.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
• Additional experience in advanced Java development techniques.

Pay Range: $49,996.80 - $290,004.00

Determination of official compensation or salary relies on several different factors including, but not limited to: level of position, complexity of job responsibilities, geographic location, work experience, education, certifications, Federal Government contract labor categories, and contract wage rates.
