The Swift Group is seeking a highly skilled Subject Matter Expert (SME) Network Engineer with a minimum of 16 years of experience specializing in Network Access Control (NAC) with significant expertise in CISCO network appliances and associated management software. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of network security principles, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to optimizing and maintaining endpoint validation within a complex enterprise environment.

This position is located in the Herndon, VA area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide SME-level design, implementation, and management of NAC solutions utilizing CISCO network devices, including load balancers, Linux servers, and CISCO appliances.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot NAC policies and profiles to ensure optimal security operations.
  • Monitor network traffic to identify potential security threats and proactively address vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network security standards with business objectives.
  • Stay current with the latest industry trends and best practices in network security and NAC technologies.
  • Offer technical support and guidance to internal and external teams on NAC and network security issues.
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of new NAC technologies and vendors.
  • Document system changes, processes, and troubleshooting procedures to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 16 years' relevant experience in enterprise network engineering and security.
  • Proven SME-level experience as a CISCO Network Engineer with a focus on Network Security.
  • Strong proficiency with NAC platforms and the ability to configure and manage CISCO solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols, including the TCP/IP stack and OSI model.
  • Experience with firewall management software such as Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to translate customer requirements into enterprise-level network solutions.
  • US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for NAC management.
  • Industry certifications such as:
    • CCNA Security, CCNP Security, REDHAT Certified Architect (RHCA), or similar industry-recognized credentials.
  • Demonstrated experience with CISCO profiling ISE and various NAC solutions.
  • Strong experience with Linux Operating Systems and Python scripting for automation.
  • Experience with a broad range of network technologies and solution architectures.
  • Broad understanding of technical principles, theories, and concepts in networking and security.
  • Familiarity with state-of-the-art systems engineering principles and network design concepts.
  • Experience with Cloud Service Providers (AWS, Azure, Oracle, Google Cloud) and extending on-premise networks to cloud environments.
  • Strong proficiency with Network Access Control (NAC) platforms is a plus.

Pay Range: $49,996.80 - $290,004.00

Pay ranges are a general guideline and not intended as a guaranteed and/or implied final compensation or salary for this job opening. Determination of official compensation or salary relies on several different factors including, but not limited to: level of position, complexity of job responsibilities, geographic location, work experience, education, certifications, Federal Government contract labor categories, and contract wage rates.
