The Swift Group is actively seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security System Engineer (ISSE) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the security and accreditation of information systems, performing risk assessments, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to maintain a robust security posture.

This position is located in the Herndon, VA area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct technical evaluations of information system designs, focusing on security aspects and accreditation.
  • Utilize various inspection tools to audit systems, analyze potential vulnerabilities, and identify mitigation approaches.
  • Perform vulnerability and risk assessment analyses to support accreditation and program protection activities.
  • Prepare and review program documentation, including Risk Assessment Reports, Accreditation Packages, and security policy guides.
  • Coordinate with external organizations and guide accreditation packages through the customer approval process.
  • Review software installation requests and conduct technical risk assessments on software implementation.
  • Work closely with system administrators to validate patching, antivirus definitions, and security tool updates to ensure systems are not vulnerable.
  • Coordinate and track security action requests and their status.
  • Assist contractors with facility designs to incorporate appropriate security features, conduct pre-accreditation inspections, and support preparation of accreditation documents.
  • Conduct periodic assessments of contractor facilities to ensure compliance with security requirements, tailoring them as needed.
  • Assist customer staff in resolving operational security issues involving supporting contractors.
  • Maintain operational security posture for the program, ensuring ongoing compliance.
  • Conduct and analyze results from weekly auditing requirements.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (preferred) in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, system engineering, or information assurance.
  • Strong technical expertise in computer network design, implementation, and accreditation.
  • Proven ability to provide oversight and coordination for multiple contractors supporting program objectives.
  • Must be available and willing to travel up to 25%.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Expertise in certification and accreditation processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of security policies and frameworks such as:
    • DCID 6/3
    • ICD 503
    • NIST 800-53
  • Direct experience working as an ISSO and/or ISSE with accreditation processes and interaction with program ISSM staff.
  • Strong understanding of program security and information systems security best practices.
  • Familiarity with applicable IC and DoD policies, procedures, and operating instructions related to program security and information management.
  • Experience managing privileged user requirements.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented personality.
  • US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated experience with security accreditation processes and continuous monitoring practices.
  • Experience with automated security assessment tools.

Pay Range: $49,996.80 - $290,004.00

Pay ranges are a general guideline and not intended as a guaranteed and/or implied final compensation or salary for this job opening. Determination of official compensation or salary relies on several different factors including, but not limited to: level of position, complexity of job responsibilities, geographic location, work experience, education, certifications, Federal Government contract labor categories, and contract wage rates.
