The role involves daily system configuration, operations, and optimization to ensure efficient resource utilization and system reliability. Job Description
Computer World Services Corp (CWS) is seeking a skilled and proactive System Administrator - Mac Systems to manage and support our Mac-based IT environment. The role involves daily system configuration, operations, and optimization to ensure efficient resource utilization and system reliability. You will also provide user assistance, handle system capacity analysis, and collaborate on strategic IT initiatives.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
System Operations and Maintenance:
- Assist with the configuration and day-to-day operation of Mac systems, IT assets, and related business systems.
- Ensure optimal performance, resource utilization, and reliability of Mac environments.
System Optimization and Planning:
- Perform system capacity analysis to forecast and plan for resource requirements.
- Identify areas for system improvements and recommend optimization strategies.
User Support and Assistance:
- Provide technical assistance to users for accessing and utilizing business systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve user issues related to Mac systems and applications.
Jamf Administration:
- Manage and maintain the Jamf Pro environment for enterprise Mac management, ensuring compliance and security.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain custom scripts, policies, and configuration profiles using Jamf.
Collaboration and Documentation:
- Collaborate with IT teams to support system integration, updates, and installations.
- Maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
Job Requirements:
Education & Experience
Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience in system administration, specifically managing Mac systems in an enterprise environment.
Certifications (Preferred):
- Jamf 200 (Certified Associate).
- Jamf 300 (Certified Admin).
- ACiT (Apple Certified IT Professional).
Technical Skills:
- Strong expertise in Jamf Pro administration, scripting (e.g., Bash, Python), and Mac system management.
- Knowledge of MacOS deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting in an enterprise setting.
- Familiarity with Apple Device Enrollment Program (DEP), Volume Purchase Program (VPP), and mobile device management (MDM).
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills to support technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Attributes:
- Hands-on experience with automation tools and practices for managing Mac systems.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and change management processes.
Certifications
- ITIL certification v4 preferred.
Security Clearance
- Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
