Systems Intelligence is excited to uphold the Army Software Factory's mission of enabling Soldiers to become software professionals. We are looking for a Product User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) Practice Lead to enable others in a one-to-many model, focusing their efforts on activities that scale to many practitioners at once and cultivating an environment for continuous practice improvement. The Practice Lead establishes core practices, drives continuous learning, deliberately coaches for professional growth, curates learning resources and coordinates with Executive Leadership in standardizing enablement practices for the organization.



Travel:

CONUS travel in performance of the contract will be determined at the time of need.



Shift:

Core business hours of 8:45 A.M through 5:15 P.M central time, Monday through Friday, with eight working (non-lunch) hours per day

Prescribed period during which lunch may be taken: 11:00 A.M. and 1:00 P.M.

Responsibilities

  • Executes lean and agile rituals and methodology.
  • Develops and implements customer practices.
  • Measures the health of practice.
  • Responsible for professional growth and development of 6-8 Soldiers.
  • Coaches and mentors to progress Soldier competencies.
  • Serve as senior expert in their technical craft who translates that expertise to coach and enable at appropriate audience level to include novice, junior, intermediate, senior, and/or executive.
  • Support the Learning and Product Office to inform and evolve the skills matrix, adapting and adding skills to the changing needs of the customer, which may require developing the skills matrix for a new language, new software frameworks, or similar, and recommendations and curriculum to train end users on the new skills.
  • Contribute training support and planning to practice times and training events.
  • Draft agendas and training plans.
  • Transfer knowledge via tangible program documentation and support to training events, both recurring and ad hoc (e.g., Hackathon).
  • Support evaluation and recommendation regarding technologies that can and should be used to enable ASWF practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar relevant field.
  • 10 years of experience of Product Designer.
  • 5 years of Experience coaching and training senior Product Designers in the following: software planning, requirements, risk management, design, development, architecture, modeling, estimation, configuration management, quality, security, and tests using software development methodologies, architectural structures, viewpoints, styles, design decisions, and frameworks across all lifecycle phases.
  • Fluent in test driven development, lean methodology, and DevSecOps.
  • Knowledge of Figma and Figjam or comparable tooling.
  • Skill in managing user relationships, including determining user needs/requirements, managing user expectations, and demonstrating commitment to delivering quality results.
  • Ability to create prototypes, wireframes, and storyboards based on customer requirement.
  • Skill in using industry-standard design and prototyping tools.
  • Ability to research, inform, and evaluate available technologies and standards to meet customer requirements.
  • Knowledge of Federal 508 design compliance.
  • Ability to obtain interim Secret clearance prior to start date and achieve/maintain Secret clearance upon final adjudication.
