Overview:

We are seeking highly skilled Systems Engineers (all levels) to join our dynamic team at Fort Meade, Maryland. The role will involve analyzing user requirements, developing system specifications, and leading design and development activities for both hardware and software components. You will be responsible for ensuring the integration of requirements, design, and technology into ongoing operations, while providing technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • System Design & Development:
    • Analyze user requirements and develop system specifications.
    • Lead design and development efforts, including feasibility studies.
    • Provide technical leadership to ensure integration of requirements, design, and technology.
  • Documentation & Planning:
    • Develop technical and system design documentation.
    • Assist with system development and implementation planning.
    • Guide the allocation of system requirements and interact with government personnel on technical matters.
  • System Requirements & Architecture:
    • Manage system requirements to ensure compatibility with defined architectures (DoDAF, SOA).
    • Develop and review requirements for Information Assurance and Security Mechanisms.
    • Review program and contract work breakdown structures.
  • Verification & Risk Management:
    • Define verification methods and evaluation criteria for systems.
    • Assess program risks and plan verification efforts.
    • Support the DoD Certification/Accreditation Process.
  • Configuration Control & Technical Direction:
    • Serve as a member of the Configuration Control Board (CCB).
    • Provide technical direction for complex hardware/software systems.
    • Maintain knowledge of current standards and emerging technologies.


Qualifications:

Education & Experience:
  • Experience:
    • 20 years of experience as a Systems Engineer, with expertise in hardware and software systems.
    • A Bachelor's degree in System Engineering or a related discipline is required. Alternatively, 5 years of additional SE experience may substitute for the degree.

Skills & Abilities:
  • Systems Engineering Leadership:
    • Experience in planning and leading systems engineering efforts.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Strong experience as a hardware or software engineer.
    • Proficiency in software languages such as Java, C, C++, and Ruby on Rails.
    • Experience with operating systems such as Unix, Linux, and Windows.
    • Knowledge of Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) and ModelSim for HDL simulation.
    • Familiarity with Xilinx tools.
