OVERVIEW:
We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Network Engineer supporting an Intelligence Community Customer in Lorton, VA. As a Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the network infrastructure. Your expertise will contribute to the seamless operation of the customer systems, ensuring high availability, reliability, and security. You will work collaboratively with the IT team to support various projects and initiatives on both classified and unclassified networks.

As a Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the network infrastructure. Your expertise will contribute to the seamless operation of the customer systems, ensuring high availability, reliability, and security. You will work collaboratively with the IT team to support various projects and initiatives on both classified and unclassified networks.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Implements and manages local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and other network-related technologies.
- Performs network configuration and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Monitors network performance and proactively address any issues to minimize downtime.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate network solutions into new and existing systems.
- Conducts regular maintenance and firmware upgrades on network infrastructure.
- Creates required documentation for network infrastructure.
- Builds network and telecommunications systems for deployment, assist in testing, and prepare for shipping.
- Assists in the installation, operations, and maintenance of network devices & systems in the network/data centers and network infrastructure closets.
- Provides on-call support and respond to system emergencies as required.
- Travel required to sites within the DC metro area; approximately once per week.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer in an enterprise environment.
- Knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and subnetting.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco and/or Juniper network equipment.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and techniques.
- Basic understanding of network security principles and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in supporting classified networks.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- IAT Level II baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570.01.
- Cisco/Juniper.

- Experience troubleshooting and configuring IP networks using the following protocols: BGP and OSPF desired.
