About The Role
Peraton is hiring an Innovation Projects Lead Systems Engineer to join our Cyber Mission business unit in Jessup, MD. As a systems engineer on our team, you will support one of the largest enterprise-wide Engineering contracts within the Intelligence Community. This is a full-time position requiring 1880 hours of support per year; and work is performed at the customer site.
As an Innovation Projects Lead Systems Engineer on our team you will provide systems engineering and other technical assistance to customer's requirements development and planning for National SIGINT systems. You will be the Senior Systems Engineer supporting a national tactical radio frequency operations related innovation lab. You will work closely with IC organizations, other national-level customers, and military services to capture and document the requirements for the next generation systems. You will assist the customer in program planning across the FYDP, presentations, reporting on project status, project management and prioritization. You will also be responsible for providing technical guidance to project engineers, ensuring that technical standards are observed during the project.
The effort requires participation in numerous meetings, working groups, and integrated product teams, product reviews, and status meetings to monitor the systems engineering plans, development, and deployment of space and ground processing systems. You will work closely with government Systems Engineers to ensure customer plans are effectively aligned with those developed by other IC engineers. The goal is seamless integration across both enterprises.
You will be a key member of the team charged with the production of solid documentation of the customers' requirements and a mapping of where, when, and how those requirements will be satisfied by capabilities to be deployed across the extended IC enterprise as the next generation collection and processing systems are fielded. You will directly participate in structured analysis of alternatives (AoA) decision making processes as plans work through the appropriate decision gates. To be successful, you must be able to communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives; and be responsible for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed.

Target Salary Range: $176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Qualifications
Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or other related discipline plus at least 20 years of systems engineering experience. A master's degree or PhD may be substituted for two years of experience. A high school diploma or GED plus 24 years of systems engineering experience would also be acceptable.
- Should have robust knowledge/experience of space-based sensor systems, IC capabilities, policies, organizations, and leadership.
- Experience with software development, software integration, and project management required for success.
- Ability to supervise or coordinate the work of other contractor engineers or technicians on a project.
- Position requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
- Ideal candidate would be Overhead SIGNT SME. However, familiarity with relevant IC organizations and processes may be a suitable replacement for detailed technical knowledge of current Overhead SIGINT system capabilities.
