We are currently seeking a skilled Senior Logistics Analyst to join our Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) division in Norfolk, VA. In this key leadership role, you will provide material management support to the Navy's OHIO Class Inactivation program and provide integration planning between cognizant equipment managers, branch contractors, and the shipyard.
As the Senior Logistics Analyst, you will
- Communicate directly with the Navy Program Office, provide strong leadership, and plan for product support efforts
- Participate and aid in the coordination and documentation of planning conferences, program reviews, and other logistics meetings for inactivation planning
- Coordinate with branch provisioning and logistics teams to manage equipment retrieval from hulls being decommissioned, warehouse and short term storage, shipping and distribution to government and industry sites, and project closing reports
- Obtain required supplies, tools, and test equipment, and work with the Navy's Inactivation Manager to build the processes and documentation for OHIO Inactivation operations including updates to equipment retrieval lists and support equipment
- Provide warehouse management, material handling and packaging, inbound/outbound shipping, inventory, provisioning, procurement, and manage government property
- Develop and conduct peer reviews of Equipment Harvest Plans, Integrated Logistics Support Plans (ILSP), Project Management Plans (PMP), and Warehouse Operation Procedures
- Coordinate with Naval Facility (NAVFAC) personnel on facility handover, building refurbishment, and establishment of warehouse operations
- Develop and recommend product support planning and supportability requirements
- Assist in briefing appropriate leadership on issues impacting ships schedule and equipment retrieval
- Provide draft input for weekly and quarterly progress reports capturing material status and changes
- Possess exceptional interpersonal skills and judgment to know how to navigate and resolve challenging situations
What you bring to the table..
- A Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent years of experience supporting DoD supply management
- 5+ years of relevant experience including material management experience supporting DoD projects
- Forklift experience up to 6K capacity
- Hold a valid driver's license
- Ability to use the following material handling equipment: pallet jack, hydraulic lift table, ladders, and general-purpose hand tools.
- Physically willing and able to lift 40 lbs and work in an industrial warehouse environment that may contain dust and dirt
- Must possess, be able to obtain a government security clearance at the SECRET level or above, or recently held a clearance and remain in favorable status
- High-quality communication and presentation dexterity
- Ability to support required travel (up to 30%)
