Boeing Global Services BGS is seeking an Associate C-17 Field Engineer to provide embedded USAF Field and Product Review Engineering support at Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina . This position performs and represents Boeing C-17 engineering as an integral part of a multi-disciplined team.
Position Responsibilities:
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Joint Base Charleston, SC.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required.

Boeing Global Services BGS is seeking an Associate C-17 Field Engineer to provide embedded USAF Field and Product Review Engineering support at Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina . This position performs and represents Boeing C-17 engineering as an integral part of a multi-disciplined team.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide onsite electrical/electronic, communication & navigation, flight control & avionics systems engineering support to USAF Maintenance and Flight Operations personnel.
- Effectively troubleshoots difficult, intermittent, chronic or complex system problems consistent with operational protocols.
- Augment standard troubleshooting and repair technologies with innovative approaches to sustain Hydraulic, Fuel, Environmental, and engine systems. Systems will include but not limited to landing gear, APU, air supply, and life support.
- Use engineering equipment to collect and analyses aircraft data in order to study aircraft health and detailed formulate maintenance recommendations. Utilize product review authority (i.e. post production product review authority) to design and approve interim and final engineering solutions.
- Documents repair design solutions in drawings, data sets, reports, specifications, and supporting data as applicable.
- Support activities for on & off-site disabled product repair teams and mishap investigations. Helps resolve programmatic and technical problems that would affect cost, schedule and performance.
- Apply advanced knowledge of aircraft design and engineering principles to assess and resolve C-17 aircraft and equipment issues through the aircraft's lifecycle. Apply engineering principles and experience to research technical, operational, and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer.
- Develop and release engineering dispositions to ensure aircraft airworthiness and overall operational safety and effectiveness.
- Use innovative approaches and unique applications to solve complex nonconforming conditions.
- Identify, document, and analyze reported problems and communicate deviations that could impact design intent and safety.
- Provide design phase subject matter expertise by supporting Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and participating in design reviews.
- Coordinate activities for on-site disabled aircraft repair / recovery teams, safety or accident investigation boards, and aircraft maintenance recovery teams.
- Develop customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
- Develop and implement product / process improvements to drive engineering disposition process efficiencies and mitigate recurrent/repeat technical issues.
- This is a technical position at, and embedded within USAF Operational Base, requiring on-site and homeroom engineering coordination, independence and technical acumen.
- Travel to other C-17 Depot or Operational base locations may be required.
- Frequent interaction with Active Military personnel.
- Interaction with C-17 SPO engineering personnel (all levels).

- Experience analyzing aircraft data from various on-board recording systems
- Previous Material Review Board (MRB), product review, or delegated engineering authority on C-17 program desired.
