As an Electronic Security Technician you will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Vindicator and Lenel access control, and video system and database applications. This individual should be proficient in planning, organizing, directing, controlling and implementing application-related projects, upgrades, system migrations and commissioning as these are a vital part of the role.
Job Responsibilities:
• Assures the reliable and efficient operation of the various customers security surveillance and duress system; assists in the planning, monitoring, and maintenance of the technical-based electronic security/surveillance systems.
• Plans and coordinate repairs and testing of the electronic security system with government customers.
• Responds to work orders within the designated timeframe set forth by the customers branch or organization.
• Updates system documentation for all electronic security systems upon changes or repairs.
• Update and close work orders on a weekly basis.
• Operates various equipment including first aid, two-way radio, traffic control cones, fire extinguishers, power tool, man lifts, office equipment and various hand tools related to assigned activities.
• Assists in coordinating security activities with the other shops and law enforcement.
• Attends a variety of meetings as assigned.
• Participates in training and certification activities as needed.
• Uses safety equipment, supplies, and procedures to perform job duties as required; reports security/safety hazards and the need for repairs to appropriate government personnel.
• Responds to immediate security and/or operational concerns (e.g. facility damage, alarms, etc.) for the purpose of taking appropriate action to resolve immediate security system issues and to maintain a functional line of detection.
• Shall carry a company provided cell phone, be available during duty hours and during on-call assignment unless in a facility that prohibits the use of electronic devices.
• Uses a computer for entry and retrieval of information for work assignments.
• Safely and responsibly transports various items (e.g. tools, equipment and supplies) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.
• Take leadership in collaborating with contractors, management, and staff in coordinating and overseeing projects.
• Interpret and apply federal/military regulations and policies.
• Analyze complex situations independently and accurately adopt an effective course of action.
• Maintain accurate records on completed assignments.
• Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
• Observe safety requirements, safe work practices and methods as required.
• Establish and maintain cooperative work relationships with internal and external customers.
• Work independently and under minimal supervision.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• Four years of equivalent work experience in electronic security and surveillance maintenance and install.
• Experience with low voltage troubleshooting.
• Resides within one hour of job site (Cape Canaveral, FL)
• Possession of a valid Florida driver’s license in good standing
• Be able to pass a drug screening
• Communicates effectively orally, in writing, and electronically.
Preferred License/Certification
• Certifications in the following are preferred but not required:
o Bosch Video systems
o Axis Video Systems
o Honeywell/Vindicator Security systems
o Lenel On-Guard Security/Access control systems
o Fiber Sensys Fiber defender
o Southwest Microwave products
o Network certification
WORKING CONDITIONS
Environment:
• Indoor/office environment and outdoor environment, with climate changes. Exposure to direct sun for long periods and high heat.
• Hazardous conditions i.e. chemical and electrical exposure.
• Includes local travel to conduct work between two sites.
• Outdoor environments will contain dangerous wildlife such as alligators, snakes, wild pigs and insects.
Physical Abilities:
• Dexterity of hands to perform the tasks required of the position.
• Regularly stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.
• Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, grasp, and perform repetitive motions.
• Climb ladders of varying heights and operate manlifts up to 60ft.
• Ability to maneuver in crawl spaces, attics, and utility tunnels.
• Lift moderate to heavy objects up to 30 lbs.
Security Clearance:
• Candidate must be a United States Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain an U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance
• Candidate must have an interim Secret Security clearance prior to start

• The salary range for this position is $67,100.00 to $90,300.00. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
