OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Communication Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing and executing strategic communication plans that enhance the organization's internal and external image. You will work closely with leadership and other stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and a strong brand identity across all channels.

GENERAL DUTIES:
  • Internal Communications:
    • Develop and implement internal communication plans for programs and initiatives.
    • Draft emails, memos, and other internal communications.
    • Create and manage content for internal platforms (e.g., intranet, newsletters, blogs).
    • Facilitate employee engagement activities and training sessions.
    • Support leadership communication, including speechwriting and talking points.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging.
  • External Communications:
    • Develop and execute integrated communication plans for external audiences.
    • Develop and implement media relations strategies, including press releases, media kits, and media training.
    • Create and manage content for external platforms (e.g., website, social media, press releases).
    • Monitor media coverage and analyze its impact.
    • Support public speaking engagements, including speechwriting and presentation development.
    • Manage and maintain relationships with key media contacts.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Mid-Level (6+ years of experience):
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of professional experience in communications or a related field.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing successful communication campaigns.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant communication software.

Senior-Level (10+ years of experience):
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in communications or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing communication teams.
  • Strong strategic planning and analytical skills.
  • Experience in crisis communication and issues management.
  • Experience working with senior leadership and external stakeholders.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with social media analytics and reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of graphic design principles and tools.
  • Experience with video production or editing.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
