OVERVIEW:
We are seeking for an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer with a strong background in architecting, configuring, and managing AWS GovCloud environments at impact levels 4 or 5. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing and implementing solutions for ETL workflows, data storage, processing, and analytics using AWS services for multi-terabyte per day data flows. This role involves on-going operations and maintenance to ensure secure, scalable, and optimized cloud-based solutions that meet government compliance standards with flexibility to develop new analytics from multi-tenant cyber security researchers.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing and implementing solutions for ETL workflows, data storage, processing, and analytics using AWS services for multi-terabyte per day data flows. This role involves on-going operations and maintenance to ensure secure, scalable, and optimized cloud-based solutions that meet government compliance standards with flexibility to develop new analytics from multi-tenant cyber security researchers.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Architect and Implement AWS GovCloud Environments: Design, configure, and manage AWS GovCloud environments compliant with federal government requirements, including IL4 and IL5 standards.
- ETL and Data Pipeline Management: Develop and manage ETL workflows using AWS services such as AWS Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, and Data Pipeline.
- Data Storage and Processing/Analytics: Architect and optimize data storage and processing solutions using AWS S3, Athena, Apache Spark, and Kinesis. Orchestration and management of EC2 infrastructure using EKS/K8s. Management of JupyterHub, Apache Superset, AWS SageMaker and other solutions for data insights and reporting.
- Compliance and Security: Ensure compliance with FedRAMP, FISMA, and other applicable regulations. Configure and manage AWS security services, including IAM, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, and Security Hub.
- Performance Optimization: Continuously optimize cloud environments for performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability.
- Collaboration and Documentation: Work with stakeholders to gather requirements, develop solutions, and document processes, architectures, and configurations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
- Proven experience with AWS GovCloud deployment and management at impact levels 4 or 5.
- Strong knowledge of core AWS services: EC2, S3, VPC, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, EKS, and others.
- Proficiency in AWS Glue, Lambda, and Step Functions for ETL workflows.
- Familiarity with Apache Spark, EKS, EMR, or similar tools for large-scale data processing.
- Experience with AWS Athena and Kinesis for data analytics and visualization.
- Orchestration and management of infrastructure using K8s/EKS
- Familiarity with FedRAMP, FISMA, and related compliance frameworks.
- Experience with AWS security services such as IAM, KMS, and WAF.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, and excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of machine learning workflows and/or cyber security analytic use-cases.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate/Professional) or equivalent certifications.
- Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, AWS CDK).
- Experience working in Agile or DevOps teams, and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
