OVERVIEW:
We are looking for a Senior Linux Administrator/Engineer. This person is responsible for maintaining the operational status of Linux OS-based servers and appliances and will work closely with other members of the IT Operations department on the program.

We are looking for a Senior Linux Administrator/Engineer. This person is responsible for maintaining the operational status of Linux OS-based servers and appliances and will work closely with other members of the IT Operations department on the program.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Daily administration of Linux OS infrastructure (Red Hat 6+ preferred) including performance tuning and optimization of guests in a virtual environment.
- Daily administration of Linux OS systems running currently supported Red Hat Enterprise Linux version 6 and 7 and other Linux core services.
- Building server 'Gold' images to conform to customer standards, to include SELinux policies, hardening, and security compliance.
- Perform enterprise level system upgrades of operating systems, applications, and other tools, including evaluation and installation of new products, and other application patches.
- Develop mid-level engineers to perform more advanced system administration and best practices.
- Manage Service Level Agreements, documentation, and policy/procedure compliance for IT systems related to virtualized, and Linux environments.
- Create and manage scripts to perform system tasks utilizing bash, ksh, python, Ansible, Puppet or equivalent is a required skillset.
- Participate in after-hours requests that respond to business emergencies (on-call rotation)
- Provide recommendations to senior management for areas of opportunities to reduce total cost of ownership of the Linux OS environment. Work with Application developers and seasoned application administrators to establish virtual machine memory, CPU, and storage requirements that adhere to established operational requirements.
- Resolve escalated issues from the IT Service Desk and Tier III administrators
- Proactively monitor servers to anticipate and mitigate problems.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Years of experience
- Senior: Minimum 8 years of experience
- Expert: Minimum 12 years of experience
- IAT level III required
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Understanding of Privileged Access Manager PAM solutions and associated tools.
- Understanding of Identity & Access Mgmt systems i.e. Acronis, SailPoint, and CyberArk.
- Red Hat Satellite/Foreman (or equivalent Spacewalk) and IBM BigFix experience a Plus.
- Universal SSH Key Manager (UKM) experience is a Plus.
- Practical scripting experience in automating tasks and processes in multiple languages (bash, ksh, python, Ansible, Puppet, etc.)
- Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker and other related technologies stacks especially in the support of DevOPs environment is a plus.
- Management and development of monitoring tools, such as CA Spectrum or Zenoss is a plus
- Experience with Tivoli Storage Manager and Veeam enterprise backup tools.
- Experience in IT operational support (does not include DBA responsibilities) of standalone and clustered database systems hosted on Linux OS such as MySQL, and PostgreSQL is a plus.
- Virtualization experience with products like VMware vSphere.
