Pollen Processing Technician (GS-5/7) - SkillBridge Internship Opportunity

IMPORTANT: This opportunity is only open to SkillBridge participants on active duty who are at least 13 months from separation.

LOCATION: Laboratories and Scientific Services (LSS) – Chicago Lab Location: Chicago, IL
SALARY: DoD SkillBridge interns are paid by DoD while they intern as volunteers with CBP. The salary range below reflects the pay scale if hired at the end of the SkillBridge internship. There is no guarantee of employment, however, if CBP hiring managers are able to hire interns at internship conclusion, the salary range is: $45,146-$57,812 (GS-5 Step 1 to GS 7 Step 10).
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: A Pollen Processing Technician assists in providing fast and reliable forensic services relative to the assigned department. These duties may fall under the following programs: budget, purchasing, facilities, quality control, property, policies, health and safety, security, data bases, SharePoint, and training.
During this SkillBridge internship, you will strengthen the Department's ability to protect the homeland by becoming a valuable member of a team of forensic professionals. Your job will include:
• Assist current palynologists with evidence handling.
• Assist current palynologists with inventory of evidence and supplies, and pollen processing.
• Assist with laboratory records management program.
